Position 1: Research Training Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Training Coordinator work with the Research Training Director, researchers, and staff and provides support to the team by providing administrative and logistical support so that the research training is successfully delivered in line with the strategic aims and objectives of the Institute(AHRI).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and implements postgraduate, short term and other research training activities at the Institute
- Assist in planning, developing, and providing training using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, online platforms, meetings, conferences, and seminars .
- Prepare the annual plan and budget
- Ensures that training deliverable are achieved according to annual, monthly and weekly plans.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system for research training and regular monitoring of activities
- Coordinates internal communications and ensures that research projects interact and work together to deliver training objectives.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports
- Ensures the development of, pooling, and access to training resources and facilitates sharing of information among trainees, supervisors, mentors, stakeholders and partners.
- Coordinates training seminars, conferences, meetings, presentation forums and other means of communication between trainees, supervisors, and partners
- Coordinates travel arrangements for trainees, exchange visitors, trainers, supervisors, guest speakers, and other contributors to training programs and scheduled activities.
- Initiate the creation of materials including publicity documents, workshop content and website information.
- Support other research directorate team members in analyzing training needs and requirements to develop a new training module or revise an existing one.
- Keep a record post-graduate and short-term training files soft and hard copies
- Undertake any other related tasks as requested by the research training Director of AHRI

Required Qualifications, Experiences & Competencies:
BA in Business Administration, /BSc in Public Health or relevant field
More than 3 years of experience as a Training Coordinator, Training Facilitator or a similar role.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work intensity- timelines
Excellent report writing and presentation skills, command of written and spoken English
Excellent planning and project/program monitoring skills.
Fast writing skill (Minute reading)
Training Coordination experience in a higher education facility or Project Coordinator in the multilateral project is an advantage
Proficient in MS Office and database software.
Ability to work in a team.
Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks.

Position 2: Senior Procurement Officer (Local Procurement)
Key Duties and responsibilities
- Research potential vendors, compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order to order materials, goods and supplies
- Support the preparation and implementation of planning of procurement.
- Ensures purchase requests (PR’s) are adequately informative and complete on receipt, advises requesting unit on specifications, prices, availability and other procurement matters as required.
- Track orders, ensure timely delivery and review quality of purchased products
- Proactively provides feedbacks for requesting unit/person on urgent PR’s as required.
- Carries out procurements as per the approved budget and purchase requests and procedures.
- Prepares invitation of bids (ITBs), develops bid documents for both open and restricted tendering procedures based on user unit’s specifications, and submit to the procurement coordinator and then to the Procurement Endorsing Committee for ultimate approval.
- Performs bid analysis, prepares purchase orders, and submits for approval and fellows up the receiving process while inspecting the compliance of purchased items against the predefined specifications and/or samples before receiving.
- Works closely with Finance Unit to process payment of all invoices received from vendors; ensures the completeness of each bid document and ensures that all supporting documents are attached with the payment request before passing in to the Finance Unit.
- Regularly updates the procurement database and reports the status of all ongoing procurements on weekly basis as required.
- Assumes the role of Secretary for the Bid Opening Ad-Hoc Committee of being responsible for initiating meeting during the bid opening events and keep records (Minutes) for all meetings.
- Prepare/update the supplier list and ensure it is fit for purpose across procurement categories.
- Conduct regular market research to maximize value for money of procurement.
- Drafts procurement contracts in accordance with the Procurement Endorsing Committee’s and/or legal office’s recommendation and approval for ultimate award to a selected/recommended bidder.
- Assists and/or advises user Units for better understanding and planning of procurement needs,
- development of specification and how to match this with the Government Procurement Policy.
- Assists in designing, implementation and management of effective procurement data management system which is capable to capture or record key regular procurement activities and generating reports as required.
- Performs other related tasks assigned by Project PI and/or Procurement Coordinator.

MA/MBA Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management/Management/Accounting and 6 years of direct experience
OR
- BA Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management/Management/Accounting and 8 years of direct experience
- Mix of government and NGO experience is preferred.
- Experience in foreign procurement and custom process is required.

Position 3: Senior Program Accountant
Salary: Birr 28,798.00 (ETB twenty eight thousand seven hundred ninety eight)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the effective running of the progress, implementing financial and administrative activities under the direction and guidance of the finance Team Leader
- Verify payment requests and prepare payment orders, cheques, transfer letters and others
- For payments of procurement activities, verify the process of the procurement and prepare payment orders
- Preparation of perdiem payments for local and abroad travels
- Verify documents presented for settlement and settle
- Conduct bank reconciliation
- Preparation of periodic and annual financial reports

Qualification, Experiences and Essential Skills
- MD plus PhD or MSc in Clinical Pharmacology or Bsc in Clinical Pharmacy and PHD/MSc in Pharmacology with minimum 6 years of clinical or related experiences; plus
- Experience in clinical research and scientific paper writing with at least two publication points (at least one publication as first author) is mandatory.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop, conduct and lead clinical trial projects Lead and/or serve as study physician in the implementation of an ongoing research project through handling clinical activities including screening and enrolment of research participants.
- Participate and/or lead in problem identification for research, research designing, research protocol development, data collection, analysis, interpretation and report writing.
- Lead and provide medical care to study participants as necessary
- Writing grants independently and/or in collaboration with other senior researchers in the respective Directorate
- Cooperate in ensuring quality control activities in the conduct of trials.
- Representing the directorate/institute in any scientific platforms when applicable
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the director and/or the principal investigator.
Term of employment: One Year Contract with possibility for extension depending on performance and availability of funding.
