Position 1: Human Resource Manager
ROLES:
Human resource management:
- Implement Ärzte der Welt’s HR and Administration systems and procedures.
- Reviewing and recommending changes to the human resources policies and procedures to conform to Ethiopian labor laws and needs of the organization.
- Coordinating the recruitment process, ensuring that procedures followed are fair and transparent, and arranging for appropriate orientation of new staff.
- Ensuring that the performance appraisal system is maintained and operational, leading and coordinating the bi-annual performance appraisal process in liaison with all heads of departments, compiling performance appraisal reports for all employees and filing the reports.
- Developing annual staff training and development plan based on the needs identified in the performance appraisal and current trends that arise from time to time. Evaluating value for money for each training support given.
- Advising on all matters relating to staff compensation and benefits including job grading, working conditions and welfare, monitoring labor market conditions locally and regionally and making appropriate recommendations to Management.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
- Ensuring that grievances, complaints, and discipline are handled in accordance with laid down procedures and laws.
- Develop and continuously update the human resources plan.
Educational Qualification:
A master’s degree in human resource management, Management or Business Administration.
Work Experience:
At least A minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position with NGO or of 5 years as HR officer within INGO
Skills and qualities required:
- Essential – Experience in Management
- Essential – Fluency in written and spoken English and Amharic
- Essential – Excellent use of MS Office (excel, word, access, PowerPoint)
- Ability to priorities, discuss with line management to fix priorities, respect deadline, and inform line management about blocking points and issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: proven ability to present information and concept in a synthetic and solution-oriented way.
- Holds oneself accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Ärzte der Welt values.
- Result-oriented approach, initiates but also makes sure that initiatives come to a satisfactory result.
- Able to work under pressures, putting first things first, knowing how to prioritize and meeting deadlines.

Workplace: Addis Ababa with regular field offices visit
Position 2: Procurement Officer
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure that all procurement procedures of Ärzte der Welt e.V. are effectively followed in compliance with the organization’s Logistics/Procurement Manual and relevant donor requirements;
- Prepare procurement plan on a monthly basis, manage procurements; PRs, RFQs, and process tenders and follow the timelines set in the procurement plan.
- Review and validate technical specifications for all procurement of pharmaceutical and other health and non-health products and equipment with organization, donor, and national regulations, competitiveness, transparency, and value for money
- Manage the setup and maintenance of all procurement filing, electronic and hardcopy, and ensure that files are complete, correct, and include all relevant signatures/documentation to meet audit requirements;
- Organize regular local market surveys and ensure the Supplier database and other supplier information are kept up-to-date and referenced during the procurement process;
- Manage the procurement Tracking System (PTS) ensuring the report is shared with the logistics coordinator on a weekly basis;
- Maintain the tracking and filing system to record and archive all procurements. Archive the purchase file’s original documents and ensure that soft copies are archived on the logistics SharePoint.
- Establish framework contracts for all common user goods, services, and works.
- Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in an ethical manner and the regulation of anti-corruption measures is in place
- Ensure Payment Request Forms (PRF) are raised promptly after delivery of supplies or completion of services and further submitted to finance for final payment;
- Any other task assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in relevant field (required)
- Relevant training in Procurement, logistics and operations
- Good knowledge and understanding of Addis Ababa market (including pharmaceutical market) is compulsory.
- Minimum3 years experience working with INGOs
- Good working knowledge of the English and Amharic languages are essential, Somali language is a plus
- Strong organizational skills in emergency situations and autonomous in daily operations
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Fully fluent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/knowledge of the Somali region is a plus
Workplace: Addis Ababa with regular field offices visit
Position 3: Logistics Assistant
Purpose of the post:
- Assist in managing the security guard duty roster and ensure that visitor record is maintained
- Under the supervision of the Base Logistician, the Logistic Assistant will be responsible for the following main activities:
- Ensure that policies and procedures for all logistical functions are strictly followed at the base level.
- Ensure the principles for efficient fleet management systems are observed.
- Ensure the safety and security of Arzte Der Welt staff and assets are in place
- Carrying out all repair and maintenance activities in the base (vehicles, fuel consumption, and local infrastructure)
- Work closely with program and administrative departments and provide logistics support to the field sites
- Provide support in maintaining and managing the stocks at the base level.
Job Requirements
Expected profile:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (required)
- Relevant training in logistics, fleet, security, and operations
- 3 years experience working with INGOs
- Good working knowledge of the English language is essential, Amharic and Somali Languages are desirable
- Strong organizational skills in emergency situations and autonomy in daily operations
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience/knowledge of the Somali region is a plus
Workplace: Jijiga with Movement to Field offices, Somali
