About MLWDA

Mujejeguwa-Loka Women Development Association (MLWDA) is a community based Ethiopian Residents Charity. Although the association obtained its legal registration with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Ministry of Justice in 2002\03, it started its community-based development initiatives earlier in 1996 in the Metekel Zone of the Benishangul-Gumuz National Regional State. Mujejeguwa-Loka in the Gumuz language means ‘down light’. The organization has been implementing various projects in different woredas of Benishangul Gumuz region and Amhara region.

Mujejeguwa Loka Women Development Associan (MLWDA) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Details of Duties and Responsibilities

  • The officer will actively follow daily inquires that might be supported by senior experts, coordinator, director and provide immediate response to donor’s queries on timely base
  • Writing internal memos to operation project wereda coordination and other who directly or indirectly involved in the project
  • Prepare and review detailed operational plan comprising activity breakdown by month, procurement plan or schedule that could guide the implementation of the entire programme and circulate to pertinent departments
  • Prepare the regular report to the donor (monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annually) as per the agreement enter between MLWDA and the donor considering fulfilling the donor requirement and ready for review and check up by the programme coordinator and other
  • Provide strong justification in case of physical or budget deviation under frequent guidance and supervision of coordinator and other staff
  • Prepare and submit purchase requisition for items that are expected to be purchased by the  organization
  • Strong and timely follow up of equipment under procurement requested by the organization as well as by the operational projects.
  • Inform immediate supervisor in case major deviations happen that might affect the project objectives.
  • Check whether financial disbursement is incorporated in the operational plan
  • Develop MoU and project agreement that will be reached with respective regional government stakeholders with the assistance of the coordinator or director
  • Ensure that quarterly cash forecast is prepared and submitted on the basis of project calendar
  • Collect, compile and analyze information from the field and submit report to coordinator and director
  • Follow up and implement directives and guidelines of the project team as per the contract entered with the donor
  • Follow up timely disbursement of project funds and proper uses of the resources,
  • Ensure gender mainstreaming is maintained across its functions, reporting, and monitoring, operational plan development and so on.

Job Requirements

Education

Graduate degree in M&E, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences or other relevant field is required,

Professional competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ of relevant experience preferably within the NGO
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and development programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training and mentoring.
  • Documented results related to position’s responsibilities
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

 Context/Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

Analytic and computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

Experience on digital data gathering will be an added advantage
