Policy Studies Institute would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different positions.

Position 1: Research Officer

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Survey coordination
  • Prepare literature review and synthesis literature
  • Oversee primary and secondary data management activities
  • Conduct statistical and econometric analysis
  • Conduct random spot check and call back interviews
  • Assist project leader to produce survey and research reports
  • Support stakeholder engagement
  • Train enumerators and supervisors in collaboration with project leader
  • Ensure the safe keeping of all projects data, and devises
  • Oversee the day to day activities of the project
  • Prepare a biweekly progress report
  • Carry out other assignments as required

Qualification and Experience;

  • Master’s Degree in economics or related fields.
  • At least Two years relevant research experience
  • An excellent command of STATA
  • Excellent Communication ,report-writing, problem solving and adaptable skills
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly with little supervision

Preferred qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of survey CTO
  • Strong analytical and academic writing skill

Position 2: Administrative Assistant

Roles and responsibilities

  • Manage the human, financial and human resource of the project
  • Process the survey team contract and payment on timely basis
  • Closely work with the research assistance and PSI finance and human resource Department
  • Facilitate the renting of field cars, venue for training stationery and related materials and equipment,
  • Effectively handle all administrative related issues on behalf of the project
  • Arrange meetings, seminars , conferences, survey team training workshops
  • Drafting letters, maintain the general filing system and file all correspondence;
  • Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies, requesting payments and performing basic bookkeeping work

Qualification and Experience;

  • B.A. Degree in secretarial science, project management or any other Social Sciences fields
  • Two years of experience in a related position
  • Proven and adequate skill in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Geez);
  • Knowledge of MS publisher and Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop (desired)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good command of English and Amharic
  • Ability to work effectively and flexibly with little supervision
