Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Training and Capacity Building Specialist

Job Summary:

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) has opened its first business incubation and acceleration center (dubbed BIC) in 20222 with the ambition to contribute to the national endeavor of bringing about positive and lasting changes to the Ethiopian startup ecosystem and assist in the drive to create jobs, raise income and sustain the  country’s growth trajectory. Therefore, AACCSA invites Training and Capacity Building Specialist with the following major duties and responsibilities:

  • Tailor curriculum of training to selected trainees/target groups
  • Lead in delivering Mini-MBA training sessions under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Support in assessment and interview of entrepreneurs in the business innovation center’s acceleration and incubation program to identify gaps
  • Support the development and process of training programs to help learners more effectively retain apply new skills
  • Identify learning methodologies and tools that most effectively build the capacity of the center’s target group
  • Develops materials, including but not limited to instructor guides, participant guides, and job aides
  • Creates a pool of trained in-house facilitators to lead various training sessions
  • Maintaining record of curriculum and material and gathering feedback on the quality of trainings from trainees, instructors and managers
  • Initiate and participate in project preparations to donors and other stakeholders

Education: MA/BA degree in Business Management or related fields from a recognized higher learning institute

Work Experience: Two Years of experience for MA and two years of experience for BA holder

TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings

Entrepreneurial can-do attitude

Strong written and spoken Amharic & English skills

Strong Knowledge of MS Office applications

Previous business experience is a plus

Active listening, communication and timekeeping skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Position 2: Chief Economist

Job Summary:

  • Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Secretary General, the Chief Economist will have primary responsibility for the initiation, development, coordination, and production of economic, policy and financial analysis for Addis
  • Chamber. The position holder will have a broader scope of responsibility encompassing the planning, supervision, and coordination of the economic and policy related researches. He/she will coordinate and spearhead the Chamber’s policy advocacy engagement by working closely with the Secretary General by identifying, researching on, making producing professional presentations on economic development policies, advocacy issues and trends.
  • The Chief Economist conducts and oversees policy and advocacy research on emerging issues and trends in Ethiopia and the region.  As and when needed, the Chief Economist will represent the Secretary General at high-level meetings, panels, and for both from the perspectives of policy work and advocacy. In addition, the Chief Economist will provide analysis for formulation of strategies and briefings to Chambers management

Education: MA/M.SC degree in Economics, Business Law, Development Economics and other related areas of specialization

Work Experience: Must have a minimum of 10 years of work experience out of which at least 5-year experience in similar Position

Technical and Other Skills:

  • Proficient in data analysis soft wares such as SPSS, Stata, etc.
  • Computer (MS word, Excel, Power Point) and Internet browsing skills;
  • Excellent written and spoken English languages;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and team oriented;
  • Hands on skills in conducting research, policy analysis and advocacy matters
  • Good ethical behavior, comprehensive understanding of national and international economy, trade and investment environment
  • Demonstrated technical ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;
  • Good conceptual understanding of participatory approach
  • Ability to discharge responsibility and problem solving mindset

Position 3: Arbitration Coordinator

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Arbitration Institute, the Arbitration Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, controls and supervises tasks of the Arbitration Institute and commercial dispute settlements among members and nonmembers. He/she provides support and advises on legislations when requested by the director of the institute on matters that affect the interests of members; manage and supervise institutional arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms; and advises members to resolve trade obstacles.

Education:  LLM/ LLB Degree in recognized higher learning institution

Work Experience:  Must have a minimum of 10/8 years of work experience for BA and Master Degree holders respectively out of which at least 8-year experience for BA holders and 6 Year work experience for Master degree holders in related senior management position

Technical and Other Skills:

Commercial Arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution skills;

Good knowledge of Legal research methods, the court system and procedures, legal ethics

Ability to interpret, analyze and solve problems;
