Abai Bank has met all the requirements to establish a bank of the National Bank of Ethiopia and was officially established on July 14, 2010 and started full banking services on November 3, 2010. Currently, it is the capital of the bank. Until June 2022, Birr 3.62 billion / three billion six hundred and twenty million Birr and the number of shareholders has reached 4,317 / four thousand three hundred and seventeen.

Abay Bank SC would like to invite competent and qualified candidates to apply for the following positions to be hired on a permanent basis.

Position 1: Principal Interest Free Banking Financing Analysis & Appraisal Officer

Job Summary:

He/She is responsible to Undertake generic duties of the Division (planning, budgeting, coaching, mentoring, supervision and reporting). Conducts an independent financing analysis/appraisal focusing mainly on Corporate Customers requests within the standard time. Collects all required financing processing documents and information from Customer Relationship Management team/branch, information/data/research output from the database of the bank (if available), or from the market as deemed necessary. Conducts customer financing risk rating/grading. Follow up nonperforming financing and negotiate with customer to settle the arrears.

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience:  BA in Accounting/ Management / Economics/ Business Administration or business related field of study Minimum 6(six) years of related work experience of which 2(two) years at senior officer level. working in IFB area is preferable

Workplace: Head Office

Position 2: Principal Interest Free Banking CRM Officer

Job Summary:

He/She is responsible to Undertake generic duties of the Division (planning, budgeting, coaching, mentoring, supervision and reporting). Customer recruitment and selection. Identify customer needs (as a depositor and /or financing). Financing initiation. Sending file to financing analysts for further processing. Communicate financing decisions, Financing contract preparation and documentation, Collateral registration and documentation. Insurance policy procurement and documentation; Conduct business visit; Consult potential & corporate IFB financing customer; Follow the approved financing process end to end as per shari’a principles, Support the branch on financing account maintenance, collection, reschedule, deferment and up to final liquidation, Managing IFB financing asset and logistic, Performs other activities assigned to do by his/her immediate supervisor.

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience:  BA in Accounting/ Management / Economics/ Business Administration or business related field of study Minimum 6(six) years of related work experience of which 2(two) years at senior officer level. working in IFB area is preferable

Workplace: Head Office

Position 3: Junior Office Equipment Technician

Job Summary:

Diagnose and identify the defective part, request/purchase spare parts, and maintain the equipment. Conduct periodic services for office equipment. Proposing office and electromechanical equipment maintenance for outsourcing, Receiving and inspecting repaired equipment from external service provider and handing over to user organs,. Installation and maintaining of new and existing telephone and electrical lines

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience:  Diploma in woodwork/electricity/machine/Office equipment maintenance or related field of study. Two years related work experience.

Workplace: Gondar District Office

Position 4: Cashier

Job Summary:

Countersigns on tickets/vouchers, Handles the dual key of the vault. Arranges the supply and collection of cash to/from branches. Withdraws cash from issue account and or payment & settlement a/c at NBE for replenishing vault cash. Evaluates the performance of his/her subordinates periodically. Assist, coach, train and supervise his/her subordinates

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience: BA Degree in Accounting/Business management/Management banking and finance, A minimum of 3(three) years work experience in cash management

Workplace: Gondar District Office

Position 5: Security Officer

Job Summary:

Ensures that the security force of the bank is performing well;, Studies, proposes and introduces improved methods of security system/techniques/ in the bank. Follow up and ensures that out sourced security guards and the company they belong to are properly working in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed upon and the internal guidelines stipulated Coordinates patrol and monitors security activities of the bank at all levels. Examines diary books of guards and takes appropriate action.,

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience: BA/Diploma in Police Science from police college .minimum of 3/5 years work experience security/military activities

Workplace: Gondar District Office

Position 6: Customer Service Supervisor, Branch-C

Job Summary:

The Supervisor is responsible to countersign on tickets/vouchers and authorizes transactions. Follows-up all cheque clearance activities, and accounts of suspense nature, reconciliation of accounts with branch accounts periodically, long outstanding items of inter-branch transactions and other suspense accounts. He/she authorizes inter-branch transactions and follows-up timely settlements and reconciliations. He/she effects monthly payments of income tax, withholding tax, interest tax, stamp duty charge and other tax related payments timely, attends customers’ queries and complaints, assists the branch manager in all aspects of the branches’ operation

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience: BA degree in Economics or Accounting or Management or Business. Administration or Finance and Accounting or other business related field of study with a minimum of three years of experience in banking operations.

Workplace: Mizan-Aman, Kuja(Guraferda),Agaro, Mettu, Bedelle, Hossana,  and Bonga Branch

Position 7: Branch Manager – C

Job Summary:

The Manager plans and coordinates the overall activities of the branch, and follows-up and evaluates Branch’s operations/targets on established performance parameters. He/she motivates and coaches the customer service officers responsible for the delivery of high quality service. He/she identifies and recruits potential customers and provides professional advice.

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience: BA in Management or Economics or Accounting & Finance or Marketing or Banking & Finance or Business Administration or other business related field of study with four years’ work experience in banking operations, out of which two years in supervisory position.

Workplace: Batu,Kuja(Guraferda), Agaro, Metu, Bedelle, Hossana, Bongha, Woletie and Holeta Branch

Position 8: Manager – Interest Free Banking Operation

Job Summary:

The Manager responsible for to support the District’s information requirement by compiling comprehensive IFB performance related data about branches. The division is also responsible for producing various guidelines and IFB customer information useful for enhancing resource mobilization

Job Requirement:

Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field, with six (6) years of experience of which two (2) years should be at supervisory position; OR Bachelor’s degree in Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field, with six (8) years of experience of which two (2) should be at supervisory position.

Workplace: Gondar District Office
