ACTED is a French humanitarian NGO, founded in 1993, which supports vulnerable populations, affected by humanitarian crises worldwide. ACTED provides continued support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and engaging long-term challenges facing our target populations, in order to break the poverty cycle, foster development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Their interventions seek to cover the multiple aspects of humanitarian and development crises through a multidisciplinary approach which is both global and local, and adapted to each context.

ACTED would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Protection Officer

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduated with a university degree (i.e., at least Bachelor level) with a major in social science, law, education, or psychology.
  • At least five years’ experience working in an international/local NGO or for an international institution (e.g., agencies).
  • At least three years of experience working in the field of protection with an international/local NGO or for an international Institution (e.g., agencies) in a camp.
  • At least one-year managerial experience, including leading/supervising staff, report writing, and/or meeting facilitation.
  • Proficient skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., particularly in PowerPoint and Word).
  • Very good level of English and Somali (i.e., spoken and written).
  • Does not reside in the camp.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Desired:

Master graduate with a major in social science, law, education, or psychology.;

Ability to translate reports from English to Somali language.

Workplace: Somali

Position 2: Project Assistant

Job Requirements

  • Graduated with a university degree (i.e., at least Bachelor level) with a major in social science, law, education, or psychology.
  • At least three years of experience working in an international/local NGO or for an international institution (e.g., agencies).
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in the field of protection with an international/local NGO or for an international Institution (e.g., agencies) in a camp.
  • Proficient skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., particularly in PowerPoint and Word).
  • Very good level of English and Somali (i.e., spoken and written);
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate reports from English to Somali language.

Position 3: Finance Assistant

Job Requirements

  • Degree/Higher Diploma preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field and two years’ experience in working with International NGOs in the similar level.
  • Deep and clear understanding of humanitarian principles and activities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, personable and articulate
  • Fluent in written and spoken Amharic and English.
  • Keen to detail and accuracy required and willing to learn
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision, pro-active and a good team-player.

Position 4: Finance Intern

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of humanitarian principles and activities.
  • Sound understanding/experience in financial processing and management.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Keen to detail and accuracy required and willing to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective work relations at all levels.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision, pro-active and a good team-player.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.

Position 5: REACH Logistics Assistant

Job Requirements:

  • Academic Excellent academic qualifications, preferably including a Master/Bachelor degree in relevant discipline;
  • Software skills Proven knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Years of work experience At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience;
  • Experience in humanitarian settings familiarity with the aid sector and experience working in the humanitarian sector an asset
  • Management skills Ability to manage his/her own time effectively with minimum guidance;
  • Communication/reporting skills Excellent communication skills (clear and affective communication);
  • Multi-tasking skills Ability to multitask with tight deadlines, on numerous projects
  • Level of independence Proven ability to work with minimal guidance and gaining quickly independence;
  • Cross-cultural work environment Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility;
  • Language skills Fluency in English is required

Position 6: REACH Project Development Assistant

Job Requirements:

  • Academic Excellent academic qualifications, preferably including a Master degree in relevant discipline;
  • Software skills Proven knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with InDesign an asset.
  • Years of work experience At least 2 years of relevant working experience;
  • Experience in humanitarian settings familiarity with the aid sector and experience working in the humanitarian sector an asset
  • Management skills Ability to manage his/her own time effectively with minimum guidance;
  • Communication/reporting skills Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective proposal writing and reporting;
  • Multi-tasking skills Ability to multitask with tight deadlines, on numerous projects
  • Level of independence Proven ability to work with minimal guidance and gaining quickly independence;
  • Cross-cultural work environment Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility;
  • Language skills Fluency in English required
