Action Against Hunger has been operational in Ethiopia since 1984, addressing chronic and acute needs through a multi-sectoral strategy. Our approach integrates nutrition, food security and livelihoods, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and mental health and psychosocial support activities to enhance people’s resilience. Currently, we operate in five regions (Oromia, Somali, Amhara, Benishangul Gumuz, and Gambella) with a portfolio of programs focused on emergency response, resilience building, research, and innovation, amounting to 20 million USD per year. Our team consists of approximately 600 staff members spread across 17 regional and satellite offices. In 2020/2021, our main donors in Ethiopia include BHA, ECHO, Europaid, UNHCR, UNICEF, GFFO, BPRM, SIDA, EHF, WFP, CIAA, the Dutch government, and others.

Action against Hunger would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Junior Grant Office /Data Management & Reporting/

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Project management, Humanitarian Action, information management systems, or other related social sciences.
  • 1 to 2 years of previous work experience in supporting grants management, partnership, report writing, and/or working in the field of Development and Humanitarian contexts.
  • Prior experience in voluntary work is strongly desired
  • Familiarity with ACF working conditions, procedures, and grant management system is strongly desired.
  • Good command of the English language (both written and spoken).
  • Good |Command of Microsoft office tools and data processing and analysis skills is an advantage

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organization skills, rigorous, analytic and details oriented.
  • Basic knowledge of and fair experience in donor reporting.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in data analysis and managements
  • Flexible, self-starter, quick learner and adaptable.
  • Computer literate: good command in Microsoft office (MS. Word, MS. Excel and MS Power point).
  • Strong understanding of project cycle management, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Interpersonal skills: communication, autonomy, organizational skill, creative and innovative thinking, planning.

Position 2: Archivist and Documentation Officer

Summary of position:

Under the supervision of the Compliance Officer, the Archivist and Documentation Officer is responsible for the management of Action against Hunger financial documents in hard and soft copy.

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Accounting and Finance related
  • 4+ years related working experience in documentation and archiving from any sector

Position 3: Senior Grants and Reporting Officer

Summary of position:

The Senior Grants and Reporting Officer will contribute to the overall Country Portfolio management of the Grants and Reporting Department  of Action Against Hunger – Ethiopia Mission in line with Action Against Hunger – USA and the country’s technical policies.

The Senior Grants and Reporting Officer will report to the Grants and Reporting Head of Department (GRHoD).  This position will be based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to field sites of the organizational operational areas. The Senior Grants and Reporting Officer will work in collaboration with the grants team members, Program Technical Advisors, Coordinators and Managers in addition to the operations team, and Finance Department.

Collaborate with GRHoD, Technical advisors and Program Director to ensure quality and timely preparation and submissions of donor proposals and reports.

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Project management, Humanitarian Action, or other related social sciences.
  • 3-5 years previous work experience in grants management, partnership, report writing and/or working in the field of Development and Humanitarian contexts is strongly desired.
  • Strong experience in report writing with good command of English language (both written and spoken).
  • Strong track record of budget and financial analysis in project cycle management is desired.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong organization skills, rigorous, analytic and details oriented.
  • Prior knowledge of donors guidelines : ECHO, EU, BHA, GFFO, UN Agencies (OCHA, WFP, UNHCR, UNICEF, IOM),  SIDA, BPRM is added advantage
  • Demonstrated experience in donor reporting.
  • Excellent financial analysis
  • Flexible, self-starter, quick learner and adaptable.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Computer literate: good command in Microsoft office (MS. Word, MS. Excel and MS Power point).
  • Strong understanding of project cycle management, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Interpersonal skills: communication, autonomy, organizational skill, creative and innovative thinking, planning.

Position 4: Base HR Adminstrator

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

Qualification/Level of studies: Degree in Human resources, Administration, or related field from a recognized university/college with 5 years’ experience respectively. 

Experience in an NGO setting is advantageous.

  • Knowledge of HR procedures
  • Excellent knowledge and use of Excel is a MUST

  • Knowledge of the Ethiopian Laws

Position 5: Senior Logistics Officer

Summary of Position:

 Under the supervision of Wollega Logistics Manager, the Senior Logistics Officer will be responsible to provide all rounded logistical support, to ensure proper function of the procurement, stock management, fleet, premises & security in the base. The Senior Logistics Office will also deputize the base logistics manager in his absence.

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • BA. degree in and Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent field of studies
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in a similar position

  • Computer knowledge (Word and Excel)
  • Experience in Procurement

Required Qualifications and Professional Experience:

  • Degree in Accounting or related fields with relevant working experience
  • Training on Serenic Microsoft Dynamics Navigator is an advantageous

  • Good command of the English language, Serenic Navigator ,Strong Analytical skills, Strong planning skill, Ability to forecast, Computer skill, Good oral and written Communication Skill, Decision making skill, Problem-solving skills, Ability to work to deadlines
