The country Office was established in 1985 in response to severe drought and subsequent famine, implementing relief and development projects in Eritrea (prior to 1993), Tigray, Amhara and Oromia regions. Since then, Action Against Hunger, worked periodically in all regions of Ethiopia responding to different crisis and building people’s resilience.
Action Against Hunger would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following vacant position.
Position: Data entry and MEAL Intern
Education: BA degree required – studies in any of the following areas: social science, accounting, business administration, social studies, social science development or humanitarian studies, international relations, or a related field;
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks as well as self-direct with minimum supervision.
- Familiarity with DHIS II and data management platforms preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and committed to data integrity.
- Fluency (written and Spoken) in English is required.
- Genuine interest in and commitment to the opportunity, the mission, and principles of Action Against Hunger.
- Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
- Must be above 18 years of age.
Summary of Position, Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ensure DHIS II data entry for all projects and support tasks related to data entry on DHIS II and other platforms the organization use
- In coordination with the data manager support the configuration of new Activity Progress Report (APR) into DHIS II and ensure all projects have APRs configured on the system
- Records any issues reported from base MEALs related to DHIS II and track mitigation actions in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Assist the base MEAL team with any DHIS II reporting issues; ensure configuration of all projects at respective sites in DHIS II, support the bases to maintain up-to-date data entry
- Working closely with the data manager, MEAL HoD and DHoD, and other members of the MEAL team, assist in troubleshooting DHIS II related challenges
- Collaborate with MEAL and technical team members to incorporate feedback and comments on APRs, reports, CFRM reports, and other records.
- Provide MEAL function support at both capital and base locations as required.
