Amhara Bank SC would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Senior Asset Liability and Operational Risk Management Officer

Purpose of the Job: To improve asset liability and operational risk management of the Bank by assessing and monitoring liquidity, market and operational risk exposure of the Bank in line with internal and regulatory requirements to maintain the level of risk at acceptable limits.

Generic Functions:

  • Take up the roles of the division manager in his/her absence;
  • Actively participate in developing, reviewing and implementing policies & procedures, plan /budget of the division;
  • Mentor and enable staffs below his/her grades towards achieving their effective performance;
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set

Specific Functions:

  • Participate in Development of Asset Liability and operational risk management policies, procedures/guidelines, program and plan of the Bank;
  • Monitor the implementation of the Board of Director / Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) resolutions on identified risks;
  • Maintain, update and properly implement procedures and guidelines for AML/ATF, Branch, Online & Card transaction control activities;
  • Evaluate the adequacy of the Bank’s capital to absorb market and operational risk;
  • Perform inherent risk assessment on new products and services of the Bank, and come up with proper mitigation measures;
  • Support/advice/assist risk assessment units in operational risk identification, measurement, assessment, control and monitoring;
  • Handle additional related assignments as directed by immediate supervisor;

Job Requirement:

Qualification: BA in Business Management, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics or any other related fields

Experience: Five /5/ years of relevant experience preferably in banking industry of which Two/2 years on officer position.

Position 2: Senior IT Auditor

Purpose of the Job: To ensure that the IT operations in terms of People-Process-Technology (PPT) integrations are in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives, corporate policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations of other governing bodies through continuously undertaking an independent and objective verification.

Qualification: B.Sc. In Computer Science/Information Technology, or any other related fields

Experience: Five/5/ years of relevant experience preferably in banking industry of which Two/2 years on officer position.

Generic Functions:

  • Take up the roles of the IT Audit Division Manager in his/her absence;
  • Participate in the development, review and implementation of policies & procedures, plan /budget of the division;
  • Provide consulting activities to the general internal auditing as required.
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set;
  • Provide the concerned organ with timely, relevant, accurate, and complete reports on the plan performance;

Specific Functions:

  • Participate in development and implementation of a risk-based internal audit work program to provide independent assurance that all the material areas are covered and audited in a timely manner;
  • Conduct special investigation for potential frauds as initiated from Board, CEO, or the Department and prepare a special investigation report;
  • Provide professional advice, opinion and witness on fraud occurrences as requested by court or police;
  • Independently identify significant as well as risky areas and activities of IT functional units, and provide feasible & applicable recommendations as respective controls.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control and risk management processes through the IT Departments;
  • Handle additional related assignments as deemed necessary

Position 3: Junior Asset Liability & Operational Risk Management Officer

Position 4: Auditor

Purpose of the Job: To ensure the branch/district/regions banking operation is in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations of other governing bodies through continuously undertaking an independent and objective verification.

Generic Functions:

  • Mentor  and enable staffs below his /grades towards achieving their effective performance;
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set;
  • Provide the concerned organ with timely, relevant, accurate, and complete reports on the plan performance;

Specific Functions:

  • Take part in organizing and implementing internal audit programs of branches/districts/regions according to audit plans
  • Closely follow up the process of audits to ensure that the Bank fulfills international and governmental obligations of audit compliance;
  • Assess and monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control and risk management processes by branches/districts/regions;
  • Undertake financial, operational, compliance, performance administrative audits, for the bank’s programs and projects;
  • Review internal audit reports of branches /districts/ regions, and present to the concerned organ;
  • Independently identify significant as well as risky areas and activities of branches /districts/ regions, and recommend respective control systems as appropriate;
  • Handle additional related assignments as deemed necessary;

Job Requirement:

Qualification: BA in Accounting and Finance, Business Management or any other related fields.

Work Experience: Three (3) years of relevant experience preferably in banking industry of which one/1 year officer position.

Position 5: Branch Manager Grade – I

Purpose of the Job: To achieve sustainable growth and profitability of the Bank through cross selling the Bank’s products & services; acquiring & retaining customers, improving customer services and building strong customer relationships to maximize resources mobilization efforts; managing overall retail banking operations at the assigned branch.

Generic Functions:

  • Prepare /review work plans / budgets  of the branch and monitor its execution;
  • Embody  the bank’s good culture & corporate image ;
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct, ascertain that subordinates abide by same and manage disciplinary concerns;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement , follow- up & monitor subordinates to do the same ;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set;
  • Mentor and coach  subordinates towards effective career development;

Specific Functions:

  • Plan and lead the enhancement of the resource mobilization activity of the branch by organizing and effectively coordinating the branch workforce;
  • Aggressively engage in marketing and promotional activities by communicating with customers about the products and services available in the bank;
  • Check whether the Branch’s books of accounts are in balance; review Income and Expense Summary Accounts of the Branch and apply strict follow-up on controllable expenses;
  • Ensure that transactions are authorized immediately and end-of-business cycle processes are done on a timely basis.

Job Requirement:

Qualification: BA in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management, and any other related fields.

Experience: 7 years of relevant experience in the Banking Industry of which 1 year as Assistant Branch Manager/CSM or Relationship Manager or 7 years of relevant banking experience of which at least 2 years as Senior Officer in banking operation position

Position 6: Compliance Management Officer

Purpose of the Job: To provide proactive and effective compliance management with Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing, and other regulatory requirements by designing and implementing a proactive and risk based compliance management approach; implement due diligence on Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing activities.

Generic Functions:

  • Mentor  and  enable staffs  below  his/her  grades  towards  achieving  their  effective performance;
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and implementing policies & procedures, plan /budget, performance report of the division;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Adhere to internal control system and risk management program of the Bank;

Specific Functions:

  • Propose and contribute to the development and revision of compliance, AML/CFT and KYC related policies, procedures, guidelines, standards and program; and monitor its implementation;
  • Develop and implement compliance communication strategy and training programs on Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Terrorist Financing targeted at promoting compliance awareness and culture across the Bank;
  • Conduct timely compliance risk assessments regularly on selected branches and other units of the bank for proactive mitigation of the potential risks.
  • Prepare executive level compliance risk assessment reports that are precise, accurate and tailored to the Board of Directors, Executive Management and regulators’ need and present to the Board of Directors and Executive Management;
  • Conduct assessment on new bank products and service of the Bank to ensure compliance with laws and NBE directives;
  • Handle additional related assignments as directed by immediate supervisor;

Qualification: BA in Business Management, Accounting, Economics or any other related fields

Position 7: Senior Compliance Officer

Purpose of the Job: To enhance credit risk management by properly assessing and monitoring credit risk exposure of the Bank; conducting credit review, effectively implementing credit risk management policies & procedures; and ensure the Bank comply with pertinent internal & external rules and regulations.

Generic Functions:

  • Take up the roles of the division manager in his/her absence;
  • Actively participate in developing, reviewing and implementing policies & procedures, plan /budget of the division;
  • Mentor and enable staffs below his/her grades towards achieving their effective performance;
  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;

  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;

Specific Functions:

  • Participate in the development and implementation  of an credit risk management policies & procedures that is in line with the Bank’s strategy;
  • Monitor credit risk in the Bank’s loan portfolio by analyzing the changes in the Bank’s risk profile, the adequacy of provision for bad loans advances and evaluate the adequacy of the Bank’s capital to absorb credit risk;
  • Develop and/or revise credit risk management framework of the Bank including setting limits and targets; and monitor compliance with the established credit risk appetite/limits;
  • Monitor whether risk exposures of the Bank remain within acceptable limits and adherence of operating units with risk parameters and prudential limits;
  • Monitor that loan processing comply internal credit policies, credit procedures and regulatory requirements through credit review;
  • Handle additional related assignments as directed by immediate supervisor;

Experience: Five /5/ years of relevant experience in banking industry of which Two/2 years on officer position.

Position 9: Inspector

Purpose of the Job: To ensure the operations of head office organs are in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations of other governing bodies through continuously undertaking an independent and objective verification.

Generic Functions:

  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set;
  • Provide the concerned organ with timely, relevant, accurate, and complete reports;

Specific Functions:

Position 10: IT Auditor

Position 12: Junior Credit Risk Management Officer

Purpose of the Job: To provide assistance in the implementation of credit risk management activities so as to support in ensuring the level of risk is maintained at acceptable limits.

Generic Functions:

  • Provide the required assistance in all  activities of the work unit;
  • Properly maintain important files/records and avail when required;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Adhere to internal control system and risk management program of the Bank;
  • Participate in developing, reviewing and implementing policies & procedures, plan /budget, performance report of the division;
  • Provide the concerned organ with timely, relevant, accurate, and complete reports on the plan performance;

Specific Functions:

  • Assist in the development of credit risk management plan, program, policies, procedures/guidelines and support its implementation;
  • Assist in the revision of credit risk management framework of the Bank including setting limits and targets; and monitor compliance with the established credit risk appetite/limits;
  • Assist the risk identification, measurement, assessment and monitoring process;
  • Communicate concerned Divisions/Departments for input data and/or reports;
  • Follow-up and ensure the timely collection of input data and/or reports;
  • Maintain softcopy/hardcopy file of data and/or reports collected;
  • Prepare reports under the guidance of senior credit risk officers and credit risk officers;
  • Handle additional related assignments as directed by immediate supervisor;

Qualification: BA in Business Management, Economics, Business Administration, Finance and Economics or any other related fields.

Experience: 1/one/ year relevant Banking experience

Position 13: Junior Inspector

Purpose of the Job: To ensure the operations of head office organs are in line with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations of other governing bodies through continuously undertaking an independent and objective verification.

Generic Functions:

  • Demonstrate the Bank’s code of conduct; embody the bank’s good culture and corporate image to the public;
  • Engage in teamwork, collaboration, and transparency work practices;
  • Provide services as per the service level agreement;
  • Contribute to the bank’s profitability as per the target set
  • Provide the concerned organ with timely, relevant, accurate, and complete reports on the plan performance;

Specific Functions:
