Amref Health Africa (formerly African Medical Research Foundation) is the premier African-led international health development organization headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.

Founded in 1957 as the Flying Doctors of East Africa to bring critical health services to remote communities, Amref Health Africa in the intervening years has broadened its mission to include training of some 500 thousand community health workers and managing the design and implementation of health development projects in more than 30 countries across Africa.

Integrated Health System Strengthening Project is a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) investment currently being implemented with Amref Health Africa and MOH to support the design and implementation of a platform mechanism/s for health systems strengthening for primary health care (PHC) in Ethiopia.

Amref Health Africa would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Intern READ and Pfizer projects

Qualifications and Competencies:

Diploma/degree in public health, clinical nurse or equivalent education with fresh graduate

Zero years of work experience

Minimum of diploma or bachelor’s degree in health discipline, Good Communication and English Writing skill, Be a team player and communicator, Basic computer skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Location: Arba Minch, Ethiopia

Position 2: Saving Lives and Livelihood – Project Assistant

Job requirements:

Minimum Degree in public health, Nursing or equivalent education with at least 3 years of work experience in a health and immunizations program

Experience in coordinating project operations including running intensive training, coordinating campaigns collaboratively with woreda, local health, and community structure

Experience working in conflict-affected regions including fragile and hard-to-reach communities

Excellent coordination and communication skills;

Strong monitoring and reporting skills; Ability to work effectively under pressure

Spoken and written fluency in English, and Amharic and local language additional advantage

Location: Afar, Tigray, Amhara, Oromia
