ASDEPO is an Ethiopian NGO established in 2013. It provides direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. It focuses on emergency humanitarian response, rehabilitation and post-conflict recovery. Currently, ASDEPO is implementing various projects in Gambella, Oromiya, Benishangul Gumuz, Afar and Somali Regions.
Action for Social Development and Environmental Protection Organization (ASDEPO) would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following positions.
Position 1: Shelter Engineer
Key responsibilities
- Act as focal point to emergency shelter project in Dambe Woreda and liaise with relevant actors in different stages of shelter project implementation
- Conduct targeting, selection and verification of beneficiaries in close collaboration with field team and beneficiary selection committee.
- Prepare distribution plan and ofacilitate distribution of Emergency Shelter items by adhering to cluster and sphere standards.
- Build, maintain and strengthen relationships and linkages with local authorities, communities, NGOs, and other key stakeholders in the area of Emergency Shelter Response Projects.
- Actively participate on the sub national coordination and cluster meeting
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites to verify quality/progress of Emergency shelter project activities interventions
- Facilitate capacity building training on shelter construction models to project beneficiaries
- Guarantee timely development and implementation of weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans and budgets;
- Proactively participate in different ESNFI assessment exercises in the area.
- Provide quality reports timely and have a proper documentation
- Monitor the day-to-day implementation of project activities including undertaking of regular field visits to check compliance with the work plan, and project documents.
- In close coordination with country office logistic and ESNFI Program coordinator, facilitate transportation of shelter/NFI materials
- Assist with any other duties as required by the supervisors where a demand is needed

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering, construction and technology management, disaster and risk management and other related fields
- 1-3 years of relevant experience on managing ESNFI project preferably with an NGO setting.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
- Extremely flexible, and can cope with stressful situations and frustrations
- Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Understanding of the local culture & language is advantageous.

Position 2: Cash Project Officer
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate to all Cash Transfer Program-related fieldwork including community mobilization program, beneficiary identification/registration, and verification
- Coordinate payment procedures, including documentation, and reporting to ensure accountability to donor and the organization.
- Oversee Cash Transfer Program such as preparing beneficiary list, timesheet submission, payment schedules, and other documentation and follow up with relevant departments.
- Liaising and coordination with all humanitarian partners and stakeholders working in the sites
- Liaising and coordination with local authorities responsible for site administration
- Liaising with Sub National Cash Working Group
- Monitoring Financial Service Provider
- Liaising with Program Manager, Regional and Area Coordinator and FSP in setting up agreement and cash distribution plan
- Supporting FSP in respecting distribution deadlines and guidelines
- Facilitate market assessment and MPC post distribution assessment.
- Contribute to effective program reporting, monitoring and evaluation systems for both internal and external use in coordination with the other program staff.
- Participate sub-national cash working group meetings
- Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports timely.
- Participate in cash assessment exercises.

Position 3: – ESNFI Project Officer
Key responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of ESNFI activities including targeting, registration, verification, distribution, and follow up, in coordination with Shelter NFI cluster and other relevant stakeholders.
- Share distribution reports.
- Facilitate post-distribution monitoring (PDM) assessments,
- Monitor the day-to-day implementation of project activities including undertaking of regular field visits to check compliance with the work plan, and project documents.
- Provide progress and other required reports.
- Identify and document significant project events, decisions, problems or deviations and ensure that project data and information is archived and shared appropriately.
- In close collaboration with the field team coordinate the distribution of ESNFI materials to the respective sites in a timely manner, check the quality of delivered material and provide relevant documentation.
- Liaise with implementing partners and government stakeholders and prepare progress and other required reports, and ensure that project data and information is archived and shared appropriately.
- Regularly visit project implementation sites, to gain a thorough understanding of how activities are being carried out and to give guidance to the team on areas for improvement.
- Prepare quality reports which have to be submitted to government and donors and subnational clusters based on their reporting timeliness.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports and submit to ESNFI Program coordinator on the work progress.
- Ensure ESNFI cluster and Sphere standards are considered and met.
- Assist with any other duties as required by the supervisors where a demand is needed

Position 4: – Project Coordinator
Job Description:
- Coordinates the processes of beneficiary selection and project launching workshop.
- Participates an all assessment periods of West Wollega Zone along with other partners and stakeholders.
- Participates during employment of woredas and zonal project staffs.
- Along with the LAF Officer monitors and evaluates performance of employees of the project.
- Periodically communicates with ASDEPO HQ concerning project activities and other outstanding issues.
- Coordinates and controls the appropriate transportation and storage of all the crop and vegetable seeds received by the project office.
- Coordinates and participates during reception and distribution of farm tools, vegetable and crop seeds.
- Frequently monitors utilization of farm tools by the beneficiaries.
- Coordinates the processes of reception, appropriate transportation and distribution of solar irrigation pumps.
- Monitors the appropriate utilization of solar irrigation pumps.
- Coordinates and follows farm land preparation for sowing of crop and vegetable seeds.
- Checks the growth status of sown crops and vegetable seeds along with agricultural experts.
- Coordinates the procurement of rearing shoats.
- Coordinates the procurement of fattening goats.
- Coordinates checks and controls the appropriate transportation and distribution of rearing and fattening shoats.
- Periodically monitors the status of the distributed rearing and fattening goats.
- Conducts joint monitoring of the project activities’ along with other stakeholders and partners.
- Takes the appropriate care for all properties of ASDEPO at all moments.

Position 5: Food security and Livelihood Officer
Job Description:
- Providing quality technical Support and ensure effective implementation of food security and livelihood activities as per the set plan of action.
- provides technical support and guidance on food security and livelihood activity to project area agriculture staff.
- Facilitate capacity-building of field staff and government partners using relevant tools and technical approach- Ensuring measurable impact of health and nutrition activities with strong M&E system.
- Ensuring quality of food security and livelihood activities designed to reduce the vulnerability of women in food insecure households/communities.
- Monitoring progress and provide ongoing feedback and recommendations to the project management.
- Providing technical and professional support in the area of food security and livelihood in the target communities
- Conducting joint, supportive, and facilitative supervision with project area staff
- Keeping update with developments in the food security and livelihood sectors, including best practice examples and ensure ongoing personal development and learning.

Position 6: Livestock Officer
Job Description:

- Work with the project team and government counter parts to achieve the project outputs/outcomes at
- Facilitate identification of training needs and
- Take part in the assessments and surveys of crop and livestock related activities used for project planning and management
- Ensure project information is shared, complaints are managed correctly, and feed backs are provided to the complaints, and beneficiary selection is validated by relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate implementation of emergency project in the target woreda as per the detail implementation plan in alignment with donor and government requirements.
- Prepare input distribution plan, facilitate the distribution, collect and document input distribution list and report to Project Coordinator.
- Facilitate farmer training need and roll out of the training to targeted beneficiary together with agriculture office.
- Monitor and collect data of project implementation regularly and report the progress and challenges and lessons learned to the Project Coordinator.
