Cambridge Academy Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Junior Accountant
Job Summary:
This position is responsible mainly for handling petty cash and fuel funds, prepare cheques payments, keep proper filing of accounting records, liaise finance department tasks and perform any finance department roles as appropriate and needed.
Main Duties:
- Collect and summarize fuel receipts and request for replenishment.
- Process cheques payments up on approval of request for payment.
- Make proper follow up on settlement of petty cash payments with appropriate documentation and receipts.
- Prepare purchase voucher for payments with no receipts and attach identification card of receiver.
- Keep proper filing for all accounting records.
- Collect monthly bank statements from banks and submit to the senior finance team
- Make monthly payment of utilities like telephone, electric and water bills
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- College Diploma in Accounting or Accounting & Finance or related field of studies
- Minimum of 2(two) years of related experience
- Experience in the school environment has an advantage
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
- Proficient user of finance software/Peachtree
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Solid communication skills, English both written and verbal
- Multi-tasking abilities
- High Integrity to assigned duty
Workplace: Addis Ababa
Position 2: Accountant (Billing & Collection)
Job Summary:
This position is usually deals with student’s related bills by managing and recording all the school revenue sources. The main responsibilities are preparing billing statement to each student, submit them and make a regular follow up on it and ensure students are charged appropriately and track collected fees consistently and correctly. In addition to the billing activity, this position is also responsible for any finance and accounting roles as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Main Duties:
- Prepare students annual and term billing statement with summary and submit the billing statement on time.
- Manage and track daily incoming collections from students.
- Manage students’ account status and keep updated data.
- Identify inconsistencies and communicate with concerned bodies in relation to tuition collection.
- Perform a regular reconciliation of students’ data with admission department record.
- Inform Students parent/guardian on their outstanding debts and deadlines.
- Answer collection related inquiries and address problems.
- Keep proper filing of bills, receipts, invoices and bank advices.
- Code and post all payment transactions.
- Prepare and submit periodic revenue collection status reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- BA degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance or related field of studies
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Understanding of data privacy standards
- Solid communication skills, English both written and verbal
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Willing to work under pressure and can meet tight deadlines
- Proficient user of finance software/Peachtree
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
- Experience in the school environment has an advantage
