CARE Ethiopia would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Women Empowerment and Gender Officer
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
B.A. degree in Social Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Desired:
M.A. degree in Development Studies or equivalent
B) EXPERIENCE:
Required:
3 years of relevant work experience with first degree and 2 years of relevant work experience plus post graduate degree in development-related areas, conversant with adult learning and training of trainer’s methodologies, practical experience in women’s rights/livelihoods programming.
Desired :
2-3 years of work experience in gender analysis, training, and mainstreaming.
NGO experience.
Experience in community mobilization
C) TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Required:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
Analytical, training/facilitation skills;
Good writing skill
Sensitivity to different aspects of diversity (cultural, religious), firm belief in teamwork, and sensitivity to HIV/AIDS
Computer skills (word, Excel);
Desired:
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
Experience in the WASH sector
D) COMPETENCIES
Coaching, initiating action, communicating with impact, innovation, planning and organizing, building partnership, facilitating change, adaptability.
V. CONTACTS/KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The incumbent is expected to build partnering/service provision relationships with Project Managers. She/he also works in close collaboration with the Human Resource Manager and actively coordinates with his/her direct team members, i.e., Income/Asset, Partnerships, and Water Resource Management Advisors. The WEGA is directly supervised by the project manager under CARE Field Office.
VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND LEVEL OF TRAVEL REQUIRED.
This position is located in the Amhara Region of the North Gondar Zone (Janamora Town), and with frequent field travel.

Salary: $938.00
Position 2: Program Manager
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
BA and Master’s degree in sexual reproductive health, Public Health, Health, social science or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
B) EXPERIENCE:
Required:
5 years’ relevant experience with first degree and 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree in health development programs, out of which 1 years’ service in managerial level.
Experience in an international NGO environment.
Desired:
Experience working with adolescent sexual reproductive health and Nutrition.
Experience working with sub awarded local NGOs.
C) TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:
- Expertise in developing and managing budgets
- Demonstrated program management experience with projects of similar size (20M USD+) and complexity
- Proficiency in verbal and written English;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Concept paper development, operational planning, budget planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, report writing.
- Proficiency in standard office software packages.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire and empower others.
- Demonstrated technical and managerial ability, sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels;
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, transparent and participatory management.

- Skills in leading an effective team. Expertise in one or more of the following program areas: health development programs, adolescent health program, water/sanitation, income generation, Adolescent empowerment, Gender & Rights Based Approach focus MEAL, climate smart agriculture, and GBV including early, child, forced marriage.
- Demonstrated capacity in gender equality, in particular understanding of feminist programming and integrating gender into SRHR and Health interventions

Position 3: Advisor – Gender and Social Accountability
Qualifications
A) Education/Training
Required:
BA/BSc Degree in Gender/Women’s Development, Development Studies, social sciences, or related field of study

MBA/MSc Degree in Gender/Women’s Development, Development Studies, social sciences, or related field of study
B) Experience:
Required:
- 5 years’ relevant experience with first degree and 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree in related to gender/women’s and girls’ empowerment, social accountability, and experience with challenging social norms, particularly as it relates to sexual reproductive health, adolescent SRH, nutrition, and health, out of which 1 years’ service in managerial level .
- Experience technically managing people, with strong coaching and mentoring expertise.
Desired:
- Experience working on adolescent SRHR programming highly desired

C) Technical Skills
Required:
- Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel & Access);
- Expertise in gender and women’s empowerment program design and management;

MPH/MSC in Sexual Reproductive Health, nutrition, public health or related field

- 5 years’ relevant experience with first degree and 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree progressive work experience on SRH and nutrition.
- Work experience on adolescent SRH programming.

B) EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 5 years’ relevant experience with first degree and 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree in development and livelihood related areas,
- Work experience in youth livelihood areas.

- NGO experience.
- Previous experience with WASH, food safety and preparation, climate smart agricultural activities, home gardening interventions, disaster risk reduction, conservation, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and access to finance.
C) Technical Skills
Required:

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW HOW)
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING
Required:
- Degree in psychology, gender studies, sociology, social work, or related areas of focus from a recognized University.
- NGO experience is a plus
B) EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree and 2 years of relevant experience plus a post graduate degree in psychology, gender studies, sociology, social work.
- Experience on implementing or leading Sexual and reproductive health and/or Gender focused projects in emergency
- Experience on working with internally displaced people
C) TECHNICAL SKILLS
Required:
- Language proficiency in written and spoken English;
- Computer proficiency.
- Good communication and report writing skill;
- Fluency in the Local Language is mandatory
- Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to rural adolescent health, economic and social needs, conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development.

Position 7: Senior Humanitarian Program Operation Manager
Qualifications
Required:
- B.A. Degree in Social Sciences, Nutrition, WASH, Disaster Management or combination of education and work experience
- 6 years of relevant experience with the first degree and 5 years relevant experience plus post graduate degree in Social Sciences, Nutrition, WASH, Disaster Management.
- At least 2 years of management experience.
- Oversees/international experience with an international NGO is an advantageous.
- Programming experience in medium to large scale complex emergencies
- Comprehensive knowledge of the different phases of the project cycle as it applies to humanitarian programming.
- Ability to develop work plans and program budgets
- Expertise in project implementation
- Supervisory experience and ability to manage and provide technical guidance/mentoring and coaching
- Computer skills (Word processing, database management)
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English Language
- Understanding of the importance of gender, youth and social inclusion
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of gender, equity, diversity, inclusion and PSHEA (safeguarding) through previous positions or programming experience

- Emergency programming experience with an NGO
