About CARE

Founded in 1945, CARE is a leading international humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. CARE started working in Ethiopia in 1984 in response to severe drought and famine.

The main focus of our work is addressing the root causes of poverty and vulnerability through nexus and development programming as well as a humanitarian response. This includes programming for improved governance; water and sanitation; food security; women’s economic justice; sexual and reproductive health and rights; and nutrition; and household and community level resilience. Our programs are implemented across both rural and urban areas. CARE Ethiopia works in multiple sectors including the following priorities: Food Security; Livelihoods & Resilience; Nutrition; Water, Sanitation & Hygiene; Humanitarian Response; Sexual & Reproductive Health & Rights; Women’s Economic Justice; Dignified Work. CARE Ethiopia would like to invites competent and qualified candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Social Science, Statistics or other related fields.

3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.

2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.

NGO experience is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

  • Well organized, which gives attention to details and have some analytical skill
  • Computer skill particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point;
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skill;
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, participatory approach and sustainability;
  • Proficiency in English and local language, both verbal and written.

Desired:

  • Utilizing programming and statistical software (such as SPSS) to compile data and information for various systems, and knowledge of basic monitoring and evaluation and research tools;

Position 2: Project Officer (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Three years for BSc degree or two years for post graduate degree holders in environmental health, water supply and environmental engineering, Water Resource engineering, Hydraulic Engineering and relevant experience preferably with an NGO setting with the following competency
  • 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.                                                                             
  • NGO experience is a plus.

Workplace: East Hararghe, West Hararghe, Liben Zone (Somali), Borena, Afar, North Program Office (Bahir Dar), Tigray

Position 3: WASH Officer (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Three years for BSc degree or two years for post graduate degree holders in environmental health, water supply and environmental engineering, Water Resource engineering, Hydraulic Engineering and relevant experience preferably with an NGO setting with the following competency.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.                                                                              
  • NGO experience is a plus.
  • Supervisory skill

Skills Required

  • Basic supervisory/managerial skills.
  • Technical and report writing skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired:

  • Working knowledge of programming in humanitarian contexts
  • Have technical background and knowledge in environmental health and demonstrated work experience in water and sanitation in designing and implementing hygiene promotion/hygiene education programs
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines for WASH in health facilities and community is a must.
  • Knowledge of local languages
  • Skills in organizing and facilitating training events

Position 5: Water Technical (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Water Technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.
  • NGO experience is a plus.C) TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

  • Knowledge of construction of water development schemes in rural areas;
  • Knowledge and experience of small scale irrigation schemes;
  • Good communication skills in English;

Desired:

  • Auto CAD and other available Engineering software’s.
  • Knowledge of the intervention areas and experience on emergency response projects

Position 6: Livelihood Officer (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Required:

  • BSc degree in agriculture, disaster risk management and sustain development or rural development field of studies.
  • Have training on project cycle management, SPHERE , CTP
  • 3 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.                                                                              
  • NGO experience is a plus

Desired:

MSc degree in agriculture or rural development studies or disaster risk management and sustain development or food security and  Livelihood studies

Have training on project cycle management, CTP, SPHERE   

Skills Required

Position 7: Humanitarian Response Manager (Roster Recruitment/Talent Pool)

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 4 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.
  • At least 1 year of management experience.
  • NGO experience is a plus.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

  • Proficiency in verbal and written English, proposal development, strategic and operational planning, budget planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, report writing;
  • Proficiency in standard office software package;
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire and empower others;
  • Good interpersonal communication skill and ability to effectively liaise with government, community leaders and other stakeholders;
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, and conceptual understanding of participatory approach and sustainable development.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a first degree in public health officer, public health nursing, Human nutrition, or other related field of study. or 3 years of relevant experience for  graduate degree Human Nutrition, General Public Health, or other related field of study.
  • 4 years of relevant experience with the first degree.
  • 3 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.  
  • Supervisory skill is Manadatory
  • NGO experience is a plus.

  • Language proficiency in written and spoken English;

  • Technical Skills
