Position 1: Administration Assistant
Summary
The Administration Assistant ensure that the budget of the project is managed as per the donors and government regulations and policies. The job holder also manages petty cash fund and facilitate administrative issuers for the effective implementation of the project.
Major Responsibilities:
- Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Child fund’s Child Safeguarding Policy.
- Ensure that project expenditures at field level is managed in accordance with ChildFund’s, the donors and government regulations and policies.
- Ensure the inventory of grant funded fixed assets is accurate and updated annually.
- Implement systems, procedures and guidelines for effective grant funds management and tracking.
- Request budget transfer to the field for timely project activities implementation.
- Make field level payments during trainings and other activities
- Coordinate with country office Emergency Program Manager, and Administration and finance staff to ensure timely, effective and accurate procurement takes place for the project.
Qualification/ Experience:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the different elements of supply chain management in humanitarian work.
- Knowledge of commodity management systems (warehousing, tracking, etc.);
- Ability to develop work plans and operational budgets.
- Knowledge of the Tigray Region context
- Computer skills (Word processing, database management);
- Experience in emergency and an INGO is advantageous
Education Qualification
BA degree in Accounting/ Finance or Management with two years relevant experience
Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Knowledge of Sphere standards, CPMS and NGO Code of Conduct
Strong planning, monitoring, reporting and documentation of lessons learned.
Strong experience in collaborating and partnering with the government and other EiE partners.
Knowledge of the Tigray Region context
Good understanding of the external operating environment including government policies, strategies, guidelines, and operating procedures in managing emergencies and the actual situation of the conflict affected areas of Tigray region.

Position 2: SNR. Project Coordinator
Summary
The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for overall coordination, implementation and reporting of Tigray Region Emergency Response Project, both financial and programmatic. He/she oversees and manages field-based staff in all program and operational aspects. The position holder is also responsible for the timely monitoring and evaluation of the project.
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead the Need assessment for designing of new emergency response projects and provides professional recommendations on areas of operations.
- Lead the overall project management.
- Develop Proposal and make need assessment
- Prepare detail project implementation plan (DIP) and ensure its effectiveness according to the overarching strategy and project agreement made with the donor
- Liaise with local/government authorities at regional level to ensure compliance with government and subnational education cluster coordination’s (national/regional/ and zonal level education cluster coordination)
- Manage operating budget of the project for the project implementation including procurement, cost for the materials purchase and any other expenses incurred for project
- Together with the M&E team and technical staff, monitor project activities according to the project monitoring framework and implementation plan.
- Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Qualification/ Experience
5+ years of relevant practical experience out of which two years in managing NGO emergency response project.
Good managerial experience, including managing budgets.
Experience in leading in emergency program.
Technical experience in managing education in emergencies, Child Protection in emergencies, need assessment, planning and facilitation skill is an asset.
Education Qualification
BA/BSC degree in education, social work, sociology, child protection, psychology, public health, and other relevant fields.
Master’s degree in the field is advantageous.

The Senior Project Coordinator will be based in Mekelle Tigray, Ethiopia. The incumbent reports to the Emergency Programs Manager based in ChildFund Ethiopia Country Office in Addis Ababa with close liaison with Child Protection and Advocacy Senior Specialist based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
