Children Believe Fund (CBF) is a child-centered, community-based international development organization devoted to addressing the needs of children, their families and communities by implementing programs that focus on, health & nutrition, WASH, education, early childhood development, child protection sustainable livelihood development, disaster risk reduction and gender equality in different parts of Ethiopia.

Children Believe Fund would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Finance Officer

Job Responsibilities:

The Finance Officer is responsible for preparing detailed financial plans of the project, implementing the plans for the control, monitoring and reporting of financial operations and management including preparing financial statements, a timely and accurate processing of all accounting transactions, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll and personnel administration, maintaining accounts payable, validation of receipts, vouchers and financial data, and preparing financial reports, facilitating procurement and general services including transport/logistics, and maintenance.

Duty station: Gazo/Angot/Muja or Gidan or Woldia, North Wollo Zone

Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of extension

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

BA degree in Accounting and Finance Management or related field

Six (6) or more years of experience in related field

Possess excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Quick Book and Peach Tree accounting software.

Position 2: Project Technical Officer

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Technical Officer is responsible for providing technical support for Community Facilitators, Health Extension Workers, Social Workers and sub- district level Development Agents and other project stakeholders on knowledge delivery for positive nutrition practices and intersection and integration of nutrition with SRHR, MNCH, and WASH, among community members, capacity building for processing, storing, and preparing diverse nutritious foods among community members, especially women, improving resources for health service providers, expanding integrated nutrition, SRHR, MNCH outreach services connected to production (access) strengthening coordination among diverse one nutrition actors for delivery of integrated nutrition support, enhancing integration of gender-responsive nutrition approaches into local government policies and programming (duty-bearers) through series of orientations, consultations, training, technical advice and on-the-spot technical support and timely reporting the progress of the project to Project Manager. The Project Technical Office Project is also responsible for ensuring that the target project beneficiaries get the intended project benefits and project activities are implemented timely, effectively and efficiently bringing positive impact on their health status health on sustainable way.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

BSc/BA Degree in nutrition, public health, development, health related or social science

Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in nutrition, public health, development or emergency, and or maternal and child health project.

  • Fluent in Amharic and good in speaking and writing English language.
  • Very good expertise and skill in providing technical support on nutrition, gender equality and protection
  • Experience in implementing project in fragile or emergency context

  • Strong analytical and excellent report writing skill

Position 3: Driver

Job Responsibilities:

The driver is responsible for providing transportation service for the project/ organization’s staff and authorized guests by safely driving vehicle. The position is also responsible for planning route and requirements by studying schedule or requests of logistic support by the office. He/she is also assist procurement and transporting goods and delivering and receiving messages to and from the organization.

Duty station: Gazo/Angot/Muja or Gidan or Woldia, North Wollo Zone

Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of renewal

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

10 Grade Complete and minimum of 3rd Grade driving license

Five (5) or more years of experience as a driver, preferably working experience in NGOs.

Skills, Competencies, Attributes, Traits, and Behaviours:

Excellent interpersonal communications, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, especially when developing / maintaining contacts and working with staff within and outside the organization.

Good communication skills.

Position 4: Admin & Finance Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

Admin & Finance Assistant is responsible for facilitating office communication, correspondences, event planning and implementation, procurement including transport or logistic arrangements and staff security and assist assisting accounting transactions, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll and personnel administration, maintaining accounts payable, validation of receipts, vouchers and financial data, and preparing financial reports. He/she also performs secretarial work and proper office documentation.

Duty station: Gazo/Angot/Muja or Gidan or Woldia, North Wollo Zone

Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Education and Experience Required:
  • Diploma or degree in office administration, accounting or related field
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in office administration, secretary and accounting.
  • Previous experience in an office setting especially in INGOs

  • Good organizational skills and record keeping (attention to detail is critical)
  • Good internet skills, including use of e-mail programs and group messaging

Position 5: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Job Responsibilities:

The Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (M&E Officer) is responsible for developing M&E framework, facilitating and spreading planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project. The position also captures or produces and shares best practices, successes, challenges, lesson leant and results of the project. She/he will ensure active involvement of project stakeholders in the project planning, monitoring & evaluation. The position will also be responsible for timely reporting of project performance and facilitating, leading and learning at all levels ensuring the appropriate documentation of the project activities. She/he will closely work with Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Knowledge Sharing (MELKS) Coordinator of CBF Ethiopia Country Office.

Duty station: Gazo/Angot/Muja or Gidan or Woldia, North Wollo Zone

Terms of Employment: One year with possibility of extension

Job Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

First Degree or Master’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Public Health or other related fields.

Six (6) or more years of successful and proven experience in monitoring and evaluation and reporting of health and nutrition and related program/projects in a reputable international NGOs.

Position 6: Gender Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

Gender Specialist will design and prepare detailed plan for gender equality and gender-responsive nutrition approaches with culturally and socially acceptable innovative approaches and specific gender equality promotion strategies.  Gender Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to and guide the project team and key project stakeholders to enable them implement activities that are effective in terms of promoting gender equality and improve women’s leadership and control over resources for community and individual gender-equitable nutrition practices at household and community levels. She/he technically leads knowledge/awareness raising activities that enhance gender equality, and the integration and mainstreaming of gender in health and nutrition programs. She/he undertakes supportive supervision and monitor of the project and prepare and submit reports related to gender equality.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Master Degree or BSc Degree in Gender Studies and Sociology from recognized university.

Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience for Master Degree; and minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience for BSc Degree.

Experiences should be in gender equality or gender promotion or women social and economic empowerment projects and preferably working at least for 5 years with INGOs.

Position 7: Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

The Project Manager is responsible for project planning, coordination and overall accountability for efficient and effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. The Project Manager is also responsible for timely implementation of the project to the standards and expected quality, efficient utilization of the budget, proper management of human, financial and material resources of the project in compliance with donor’s and CBF’s policies and procedures. This position will also provide guidance for other project staff in the overall management of the project and establish and foster working relationships with CBF country and global offices, and concerned government offices, and ensure accountability and sustainability of the project.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Master Degree in Project Management or Public Health or Nutrition or Gender or related studies from recognized University

Seven (7) or more years of experience in managing or coordinating projects focused on nutrition and health, at least 3 years in managerial position with INGOs.

Skills, Competencies, Attributes, Traits, and Behaviours:

Knowledge of project cycle and very good human and financial management skills.

  • Analytical and management skills for making strategic and tough decisions, fostering high performance and accountability
  • Experience in financial planning and budget tracking.
  • Responsible, courage, excellence, building commitment, contributing to team success, innovation with problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Experience in practicing Results Based Management (RBM) or Logical Framework Analysis (LFA)
  • Results-oriented, proactive, deadline-driven and self-starter

  • Fluent in Amharic and very good in speaking and writing English language.

  • Proven experience in networking and partnership strengthening.

Position 8: Nutritionist

Job Responsibilities:

The Nutritionist will design and prepare detailed plan for nutrition component of the project with innovative approaches and specific nutrition strategies.  Nutritionist shall provide technical support to and guide the project team and key project stakeholders to enable them implement quality nutrition program integrating with health and gender equality interventions, identify and share best practices and experiences of others with project team. She/he technically leads knowledge/awareness raising activities for positive nutrition practices and intersection of nutrition with SRHR, MNCH, and WASH, among community members. She/he undertakes supportive supervision and monitor of the project and prepare and submit reports related to nutrition.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience for Master Degree; and minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience for BSc Degree.
