Established in 2019 Deborah Foundation is a registered non-profit organisation with a mission to improve the lives of children with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities through support in the areas of health Education, and Policy Advocacy.
Deborah Foundation would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Elementary Science teacher
Responsibilities:
- Planning and implementing Science teaching strategies.
- Developing teaching aid and materials.
- Planning lessons as per the grade levels.
- Explaining science concepts and principles to the students in a comprehensible manner.
- Preparing and delivering lecture sessions.
- Planning extra curriculum activities.
- Overseeing the science laboratory activities.
- Assigning projects and assignments to the students.
- Maintaining examination grades.
- Participating in the science exhibitions.
- Helping students with their science projects.
- Performing administrative tasks as and when required.
- Paying extra attention to the struggling students.
- Creating a fun and engaging classroom environment.
- Arranging field trips and other fun activities.
- Taking giving feedbacks from the students and parents.
- Reporting students’ progress to the parents and higher management.
- Maintaining reports for future reference.
- Researching on modern techniques in explaining concepts.
- Attending parents-teachers meeting.
- Organizing events to showcase the students’ talents.
- Staying updated with the latest developments in teaching techniques.

Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, Biology, or a related degree.
- Proven work experience as a Science Teacher, Teacher, or a similar role in the Education department.
- Formal training or apprenticeship will be an advantage.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management abilities.
- Ability to multitask efficiently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge and experience using various teaching aids.
- Ability to work in tense situations.
- Good interpersonal and time management skills.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing math lesson plans as per the grade levels.
- Explaining mathematical concepts in easy and understandable terms to the students.
- Using real-life examples to teach geometrical concepts.
- Developing students’ interest in mathematics.
- Planning and creating teaching materials
- Giving projects and assignments to the students.
- Organizing a surprise test in the classroom.
- Correcting the test papers and grading them.
- Facilitating classroom discussions on various topics.
- Attending parent-teacher conferences.
- Distributing learning materials to the students.
- Providing additional teaching support for slow learners.
- Building a strong relationship with the students.
- Collaborating with the teachers and other members of the school community.
- Solving various math problems in the classroom.
- Reporting student progress in the math subject.

Position 3: Main Teacher for KG
Responsibilities
- Create a Lesson Plan that enables each student to meet their learning objectives.
- Prepare lesson materials and resources in such a way that they will be effective regardless of a student’s disability.
- Choose and apply instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for the teaching and learning activities.
- Facilitating lessons in a manner that will be effective despite a student’s disability.
- utilize games, music, books, art, technology and other resources to teach basic skills and foster student development.
- Change up the way of teaching in order to accommodate the requirements and interests of various students.
- Create a positive and appropriate classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Develop and implement a suitable classroom management system.
- Establish and create rules for acceptable behaviour.
- Apply and follow up on approved disciplinary interventions.
- Encourage cooperative social behaviour through games and activities.
- Observe, evaluate and record children’s social and academic progress.
- Provide constructive feedback to parents, guardians and administration.
- Plan and order classroom equipment and supplies.
- Ensure equipment and facilities are clean and safe.
- Collaborate with other staff members to promote the general health of the school.
- Perform required administrative duties including attending staff meetings.
- Uphold the school code of conduct and all school policies, rules and procedures in a supportive and positive manner.
