The organization has five main programs: Child Well-being and Education Development, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency. DEC operates in six National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia: Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.
Development Expertise Center (DEC) would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different position.
Position 1: – WASH Programs Coordinator
Major Duties and Responsibilities of WASH Program Coordinator:
- Plan, Organize, coordinate, budget, monitor and lead WASH programs and projects with organization staffs, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop WASH infrastructure, construction, and rehabilitation design and prepare the required Bill Of Quantity (BOQ) .
- Supporting stakeholders and partners in the region and district to adopt and implement appropriate and sustainable WASH technologies, models, and approaches
- Communicate with WASH lead partners and provide required compliance including report
- Provide technical support for WASH implementing staffs, and communities and strengthen implementation
- Participate in the national, regional, and Zonal level WASH cluster meetings, training and learning stages
- Develop, produce, and design IEC/ BCC material for Behavioral changes
- Developing and Managing Regional and District Partnership with Key government agencies and CSOs, Implementing partners, and implement various WASH projects
- Implementing service monitoring activities including work on the WASH service Level monitoring; WASH budget tracking and expenditure studies.
- Communicate, document, and share WASH best practices and innovations from the ground and in the system

Qualification:
Hydraulic Engineer, water supply Engineer, Environmental engineer and Related
Applicants should have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and excellent awareness about communities, government structure, etc
- Good in speaking and writing English.
- Good report writing skills; able to collect documents and share records and information.
- Ability and willingness to travel and work in any place where the project is implemented within approved security frameworks.
- Basic computer skills and mobile literacy are desirable.ththtshtjtdhtd
- Experiences of working in NGOs and communities at the grass root level are advantageous
- Experiences in volunteering, community service, and passion for development work are advantageous.
- Work experience in productive areas and knowledge of local culture is advantageous
- Excellent networking skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Position 2: WASH Officer
Major Duties and Responsibilities of WASH officer:
- Supporting and implementing all processes related to the development and implementation of WASH MoUs with District Local Governments, communities, and partners
- Work in collaboration with consortium partners and donor agencies and act as per the compliance
- Supporting in the scope of the project, district stakeholders to develop and implement WASH plans
- Developing and Managing Regional and District Partnership with Key government agencies and CSOs, Implementing partners, and implementing various WASH projects.
- Strengthening district and community water sources and Community structures for effective WASH service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of IEC/ BCC materials
- Supporting the development of community-based approaches for delivering Water and Sanitation services
- Monitoring WASH activities including WASH service, Distribution of kits, construction and rehabilitation of latrine, and water infrastructures and usages
- Supporting community stakeholders in the region and district to adopt and implement appropriate and sustainable WASH technologies, models, and approaches
- Participate in national, regional, and district level cluster meetings, workshops, and trainings and share required reports and communication
- Report, document, and share WASH best practices and innovations with program/project staffs within indicated periods.
- Perform Extern Responsibilities given by immediate supervisor.

Position 3: – Hygiene and Sanitation Officer
Major Duties and Responsibilities of Sanitation and Hygiene Project Officer:
- Lead the development of work plans for the project implementation at the field level,
- Coordinate and provide technical support for WASH Committees and Clubs
- Guide the environmental health aspects of school design, construction, and maintenance
- Integrate WASH messages into the community through dialogues and other related events
- Supervise and monitor Communities’ use of WASH facilities, WASH kits /NFI distribution
- Inspect community WASH facilities when on duty to ensure they are properly used and maintained
- Serve as a trainer and monitor colleagues to ensure various WASH messages are in practice
- Work to link the community WASH activity with Government WASH services
- Monitor environmental health conditions and water quality as well as the health condition of communities
- Provide training and advice for communities, local people, teachers, school boys, girls, and parents on water, sanitation and hygiene Water Sector
- Communicate, document, and share WASH best practices and innovations from the ground and in the system
