About the company

Dodai Manufacturing Plc (Dodai), is a recently incorporated company originating from Delaware, USA that wishes to resolve the issue of lack of access to efficient and affordable mobility for gig workers in Ethiopia. Dodai plans to provide brand new electric two wheelers by assembling them here in Addis Ababa.

Dodai Manufacturing PLC would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Head of Commercial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategy to expand the organization’s commercial activities and generate revenue streams for sustainable financial growth
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (business development, sales, marketing, expansion etc.)
  • Understand the requirements of potential and existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
  • Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
  • Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business fields such as Sales, Marketing, Business Development or closely related fields
  • Minimum of proven 10 years working in a multinational company environment, in a similar position out of which 5 years is in a managerial role
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
  • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience of working in an extremely fast paced startup environment would be big plus

Workplace: Addis Ababa

Position 2: Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands the organization’s customer base
  • Achieve growth and constantly hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  • Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships that address their needs
  • Recruit sales team, set objectives, train and coach them, and monitor their performance
  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop plans for filling them
  • Ensure that company quotas are met by holding daily check-ins with sales team to set objectives and monitor progress
  • prepare and present sales, revenue and expenses reports and forecasts backed by latest data and strategy to the management team
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business fields such as Sales, Marketing, Business Development or closely related fields
  • Minimum of proven 7 years working in a similar position, out of which 3 years is in a managerial role
  • Successful previous experience as a sales supervisor or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Result-oriented and number-driven mindset
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Experience of building a high performing sales/marketing team is a big plus
  • Familiar with delivery/logistics sector is a plus
