Essential Qualification
Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, language*, and experience.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate when applying to the position how they meet each of these essential qualifications.
Language will be assessed further during the process.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
Language: Advanced level in English (both written and spoken)
Advanced level in Amharic (both written and spoken)
Fluency will be assessed by a variety of means which may include a written assessment and an interview.
Experience: Minimum of two years recent experience working in administration, in a customer service role, in a data entry role, or a document processing role.
* Recent experience is defined as within the last five years.
Rated Requirements
The Rated Requirements are part of the essential qualifications and are related to knowledge, abilities, and competencies. Methods of assessment for rated requirements may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview (online pre-recorded/live, or in-person), role-play, practical tests, presentations, and/or psychometric assessment.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications.
Recent* experience working for a diplomatic mission, or a governmental or international organization;
Recent* work experience applying and interpreting directives, policies, and procedures in a regulatory environment;
Recent* work experience in Canada or in an organization linked to Canada;
Completion of the Canada Passport Training for Foreign Operations course;
Currently, hold an active Reliability Clearance issued by the Canadian Government
Advanced level in the French language
*Recent experience is defined as within the last five years.
Operational Requirements:
The requirement to work directly with the public;
Overtime may be necessary on occasion;
Availability to work during the period April 2023 to March 2024 (with the possibility of extension)
