Position 1: Intern, Youth Engagement
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Design approach to support meaningful participation of young people in the project by ensuring inclusivity and diversity of young people, including lived experience of young people, equal representation from boys, girls, and those from the marginalized or remote communities in the implementation regions and across Ethiopia.
- Facilitate young people to build their skills and confidence so that young people’s participation and contribution are maximized and that they can express their views.
- Be a champion for MYP (Meaningful Youth Participation), adopting approaches to the work of EngenderHealth and the project.
- Work with AYSRH officer to promote opportunities and involvement through a range of Digital Medias and create opportunities for young people to share their stories.
- Develop strong relationships through regular engagement with organizations and young people in line with EngenderHealth and project’s priorities.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure that young people’s views, experiences, and work is communicated clearly to wider stakeholders and to inform the evolution of the campaign.
- Use agreed digital platforms for digital hub to build communities and connect networks across the regions and enable young people to voice their opinions, exercise their rights freely, and engage in educational activities via fun-themed events like carnivals, and youth festivals.
- Ensure that all activity and engagement with young people complies with EngenderHealth’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Manage the scheduling of activity across project workstreams, ensuring project management processes are in place and reporting progress to internal and external stakeholders via meetings, written reports, and presentations.
- Document lessons, and best practices regarding the project’s Meaningful Youth Participation (MYP) approach and experience.
- Report progress to internal and external stakeholders via meetings, written reports, and presentations.

Job Requirements
The candidate must have the following minimum set of qualifications:
Fresh graduate of any field with zero-year experience or a young person with the experience of working on Meaningful Youth Participation (MYP) / building communities of young people or been a member of a Youth Advisory council.

Position 2: Intern, AYSRH program
JOB SUMMARY
AYSRH Program Intern under the supervision of the Project Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day implementation of EngenderHealth supported program/projects particularly for “A Rights Based Approach for Enhancing SRHR and responding to GBV” project in Addis Ababa.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the overall project design, planning, launching and assist in coordinating assessments, trainings, review meetings and monitoring.
- Assist in active engagement of young people in the project (including meaningful engagement of youth and male engagement) in project design, planning and execution.
- Assist in the re-design, adaptation and roll out of SRHR/SGBV education and awareness activities and training tools for in school (including night school program).
- Assists in SRHR/SGBV, Life skills and Self-esteem, self- confidence, and decision-making education for adolescent and young people using existing in-school and the Aflateen youth in charge (AYiC) curriculum.
- Assist in organizing SRHR and Gender programming related training/orientation for health care providers, Teachers, Law reinforcement bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in advocacy sessions with policy implementers and influencers on SRH rights and Gender Equity including organizing/supporting networking, activism, and related events on SRHR and Gender Equity.
- Assist in the provision of high quality, youth-friendly and gender equitable service at schools, in health facilities, law reinforcement institution.
- Assist in supportive supervision (e.g., training follow up/ technical support) to the project supported government partners such as health care providers, schoolteachers, law enforcement bodies, and other providers on a regular basis to monitor project progress.
- Assist in documentation of lessons learned and potential best practices, participate in the documentation and dissemination of best practices that can improve the quality of SRH services to adolescent and youth in the target areas.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports to the country office, Addis Ababa city administration health and education Bureau’s and women and social affairs.

Position 3: Program Officer – Adolescent, Youth Sexual Reproductive Health (AYSRH)/Gender Based Violence (GBV)
The AYSRH/GBV officer is expected to be a model/champion on SRHR, demonstrating passion and non-judgmental attitude towards SRHR of young people and gender equity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in the overall project design, planning, launching and assist in coordinating assessments, trainings, review meetings and monitoring.
- Provide overall assistance in the development of detailed regional implementation annual, periodic plans and budgets specifically for “A Rights Based Approach for Enhancing SRHR and responding to GBV” project.
- Ensures meaningful engagement of target groups (including Women, young people and male engagement) in the project design, planning and execution.
- Assist in the re-design, adaptation and roll out of SRHR/GBV education and awareness activities and training tools for in supported schools (including night school program).
- Organizes and assists in SRHR/GBV, Life skills and Self-esteem, self- confidence, and decision-making education for adolescent and young people using existing curriculums (including, public education curriculum, life skill training packages, and others as applicable).
- Organize SRHR and Gender programming related training/orientation for health care providers, Educators, Law reinforcement bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct with other technical staff and counterpart’s advocacy sessions with policy implementers and influencers on SRH rights and Gender Equity including organizing/supporting networking, activism and related events on SRHR and Gender Equity.

Multisectoral GBV prevention and response efforts as per the project’s scope including, introducing community engagement approaches to enhance referrals, the establishment of “one-stop “GBV” service at selected health facilities and create linkage with relevant actors to ensure comprehensive service access for GBV survivors.
- Conduct skill enhancing supportive supervision (e.g., training follow up/ technical support) to the project supported government partners such as health care providers, Educators or schoolteachers, law enforcement bodies, and other providers on a regular basis to monitor project progress.
- Ensures that partners get the required material and technical assistance and training support as per plan and ensure that any outstanding issues are dealt with swiftly and effectively following the identification of bottlenecks.
- Assist regional coordinator in the monitoring of the project interventions supported sub awards and provide necessary guidance and technical assistance including support to sites and partners.
- Assist in establishing/strengthening partnership and enhancing collaboration among local level stakeholders in the region.
- Identify with other technical staff and counterparts’ lessons learned and potential best practices, participate in the documentation and dissemination of best practices that can improve the quality of SRH services to adolescent and youth in the target areas. Participate actively in identifying, carrying out potential operational research and generating evidence that can improve the quality of SRHR services to adolescents and youth in the target areas.

Position 6: Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion (GYSI) Advisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide strategic and technical guidance in the contextualization of EngenderHealth’ s Global Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion strategy, framework, and tools for the country.
- Work closely with local HR, program, and operation staffs to develop country contextualization, GYSI orientations and ensure GYSI policies and initiatives are integrated at workplace and into country program interventions through training, mentorship, and supervision.
- Design/develop innovative strategies and approaches that help EngenderHealth/Rights-Based Approach for SRHR project and its partners strengthen Gender, AYSRH, referral linkages and service delivery.
- Provide technical assistance, competency-based CSE and gender-related trainings to government and CSO partners, in school and out of school young people, teachers, law reinforcement bodies and health care providers.
- Strengthen stakeholder response to SGBV at national, regional, the district, health facility and community level through training and mentorship to ensure interventions to prevent, identify, refer, and manage SGBV at different levels are streamlined.
- Assist country program teams to self-assess the degree of gender, youth, and social inclusion, using EngenderHealth’ s GYSI Marker, analyze results and provide inputs to enhance transformative approaches for gender and youth programming.
- Collaborate with senior CE/SBCC advisor to implement strategies to enhance gender equality, male engagement, and meaningful youth participation in project activities.
- In collaboration with EngenderHealth KM/ME&R and other teams, participate actively in identifying, carrying out potential operational research, establish data and evidence on gender, youth, and social inclusion interventions.
- Represent EngenderHealth and provide technical assistance on GYSI and AYSRHR at relevant government, non-government, and private sector platforms at national and local level.
- Work closely with the Business Development teams and Global GYSI team for developing and conceptualizing new GYSI focused projects and program portfolio for Ethiopia.
- Document best practices and lessons learned in implementing gender equality and youth development activities in the project and share for inclusion in the quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
- Compile/produce and ensure timely submission of (monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual and as needed) reports.
- As assigned, represent the country program at appropriate technical working groups and partner’s meetings.

Job Requirements
The candidate must have the following minimum set of qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in gender studies/ or other social science with master’s degree in public health or Bachelor’s degree in health-related fields with master’s degree in Gender studies or other social science related fields with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in International NGO setting
- Demonstrated capacity and experience in designing and managing GYSI and SRHR programs/projects/interventions.
- Experience with and understanding of the Ministry of Health, Women’s, Youth, Children’s, and Ministry of Education with commendable understanding on the Education system and the health service delivery systems.
