EngenderHealth-Ethiopia is currently planning to implement the REACH (Reach, Expand, and Access Community Health) project, an integrated SRHR/MHM, and WaSH intervention in the Jimma and Borana zones of the Oromia Region. The REACH project will be implemented by a consortium of EngenderHealth, Amref Health Africa, and DKT. EngenderHealth would like to employ a well-qualified and dedicated candidate as Driver/Liaison Officer for Jimma field offices at the duty station of Jimma for its project which aims to fulfill Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights/Menstrual Hygiene Management (SRHR/MHM), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) and Nutritional needs of Women and young people in Jimma zone.

EngenderHealth would like to invites competent and qualified candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Driver and Liaison Officer (DLO)

Requisition – NoVN276

Salary Range – $3,708

Employment Type – Regular Full Time

Country – Ethiopia

Requirements

  • Secondary School completion plus Diploma in Automotive from recognized college/university or professional institution and valid driving license.
  • Minimum of (5) five years as a driver and in handling different liaising activities and experience with NGOs.

  • A person with integrity, honesty, — etc.
  • Good communication in English and English. Fluency in the local language of the duty station.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and function effectively as part of a team, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (e.g., active listening, cultural competence, responsiveness
  • Ability to drive vehicles on rough roads and difficult conditions to support field activities is a must.

Position 2: Protection and Gender Officer

Salary Range -$8,508

Employment Type – Regular Full Time

Country Location – Ethiopia

Requirements:

  • BA Degree in Psychology and Social work and other related disciplines.
  • Relevant work-related field experience in humanitarian response, minimum 2 years for BA related to Protection, Gender Based-Violence, or Mental Health/Psychosocial Support.

Essential Soft Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within a team structure.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities.

Preferred Skills, Abilities and Functions

  • Good understanding of protection principles, human rights, and case management.
  • Previous humanitarian experience preferred- particularly in providing Psychosocial Support for GBV survivors in Women’s and Girl’s Safe Spaces and Community outreach settings.
  • Experience in regular report writing.
  • Language – high level of written and spoken English.
  • Good knowledge of local customs and language-Afarigna
  • Basic Computer skills.

Country Location – Ethiopia

Requirements

  • BA/MA Degree in Psychology and other related disciplines
  • Relevant work-related field experience in humanitarian response, minimum 6 years in Protection, Gender Based-Violence or Mental Health/Psychosocial Support in humanitarian settings with 2 years’ experience as a Coordinator.
  • Experience in managing protection programs in complex emergencies such as IDP, IDP returnees and refugee settings, and Host community, etc.

Essential Soft Skills

  • Committed to EngenderHealth’s core organizational values of reflection, inclusion, integrity, respect, and transformation.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills- written and orally. Ability to work within a team structure.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to gain trust and build relationships with new communities

Preferred Skills, Abiloties and Functions

  • Good Knowledge of the national and local-Afar region humanitarian context. Proven experience and knowledge in emergency/ humanitarian coordination. Proven experience in needs assessment and report writing.
  • Extensive experience in humanitarian project management. Proven experience in management of multisector programs. Capacity building skills.
  • Knowledge of Project management, including project design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Planning, organizing, cooperation, performance oriented. High degree of taking initiative and working independently. Knowledge of management techniques.
  • Verbal and written fluency in Amharic & English
  • Good computer and IT skills.
  • Willingness to deploy in multiple locations.
