The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building interventions, with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.
Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.
Position 1: Accountant
Key performance Areas:
- Checks payment requests against adequate budget coverage and verifies correctness of arithmetic accuracy for approval;
- Follows up on the transfer or increment of budget and the regular and project budget execution;
- Checks and verifies payment requests against availability of budget and presents same to the senior accountant for further treatment;
- Reconciles accounts with bank statements; Prepares monthly statements of bank reconciliation and adjusting entries;
- Follows up timely collection of receivables and payments of liabilities and other government obligations, reports on long outstanding receivables;
- Follows up any deductions from employees’ salaries are paid to concerned parties in accordance with their prior commitments or court decisions;Verifies and registers receivable/revenue and disbursement accounts.
- Follows up and registers provident/pension funds of employees; ensures timely deposit and withdrawal;
- Facilitates payments of accumulated provident fund to employees terminating employment contract;
- Collects bank statements on provident fund and makes the necessary adjustments and reconciles disparities and notifies employees; Manages the movement and utilization of cash;
- Follows up and ensures that receiving and paying documents are collected from property administration, banks and other work units in due course;
- Verifies correctness, completeness and appropriateness of accounting documents transmitted from branch offices and receives/collects same for further treatment;

Qualification Requirements:
Second/First degree in in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, Accounting Software and 4/6 years related work experience.

Position 2: Cash and Voucher Assistance Officer
Desirable Competencies
Partnership management and Proven experience in working in consortium as well as coordination and networking with various stakeholders:
Proven experience and skills in donor reporting in English.
Technical expertise on and experience in working with cash transfer programming.
Proven relevant experience in developing and coordinating integrated programmes under challenging conditions;
Experience in participatory planning and community engagement.
Strong capacity building and facilitation skills is an advantage:
Ability to work in a challenging environment with a minimum supervision and meeting deadlines without compromising qualities.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
Willing to abide by and respect red cross/red crescent principles and values understanding of and commitment to ERCS mission, values, strategies and programming approaches.

Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- MA Degree in Social Science / Development studies or other relevant field related to Emergence preparedness and response and disaster risk management OR first degree in these same fields with equivalent of proven work experience
- At least 4 years for Master’s degree and 6 years for BA degree in emergency and development cooperation and extensive field experience, preferable within the red cross and red Crescent movement.

Position 3: Head, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Key performance Areas
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and learning activities of the National Society;
- In collaboration with Capacity Building work unit, develop Standard Operations Procedures and operational guidelines on Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning and overseas their implementation; Adapt & Contextualize Standard Operations Procedures and operational guidelines on initiatives that help to ensure the quality of programs’/projects’ quality such as Community Engagement & Accountability (CEA) throughout the program/project cycle and overseas its implementation;
- Take part and plays a key role in coordinating strategic plan preparation & review Initiate, lead, coordinate and provide technical support to HQ work units and branches on Annual Operational Plan preparation;
- Ensure the quality of Annual Operational Plan prepared by HQ work units and branches and ensure their vertical and horizontal integration;
- In close collaboration and coordination with program responsible work units at HQ annually compile Annual Operational Plan, consolidated budget and periodic reports of the NS;
- Takes part in Project Planning Process; Ensure that all Programs and Projects have Monitoring and Evaluation Plan;
- Prepare reporting time table and ensure timely preparation and submission of reports to internal and external stakeholders;
- lead, coordinate and provide technical support to HQ work units and branches on periodic report preparation; In close collaboration and coordination with program responsible work units at HQ compile periodic reports of the NS;
- In close collaboration and coordination with responsible work units at HQ and branches organize periodic program review sessions to review the progress of the Program Plan;
- Lead and coordinate a joint field monitoring visits, prepare their reports and disseminate the findings to all relevant stakeholders;
- Develop Internal and joint project evaluations’ TOR based on their M&E plan and upon the approval of the internal/joint evaluation TOR organize Evaluation steering team, Evaluation team and undertake the evaluation;
- Prepare and document evaluation reports and disseminate for relevant stakeholders; Assist Management Action Plan preparation as a result of evaluation reports and follows-up their implementation;
- Ensure the quality of TORs prepared for external evaluations, inception and final reports thereof;Organize and coordinate relief items post distribution monitoring of for distributions directly undertaken by the HQ;
- Organize community of practices[1], develop wikis and blogs in major program thematic areas to enhance learning in the NS; Ensure that all the planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning activities are supported with the appropriate and up to date technologies;
- Ensure CEA is integrated into National Society strategies, frameworks, policies and plans, setting out how CEA activities and approaches will be implemented as part of ensuring the quality of Programs/Projects;
- Integrate/ensure CEA into M&E processes for Programs/Projects, communities are consulted and feedbacks are regularly collected and documented to understand levels of satisfaction with the Programs/Projects.
- Raise awareness of the importance of CEA with senior management, staff and volunteers through presentations and briefing sessions; Deliver PMEL & CEA training to staffs, management and volunteers in collaboration with the capacity building work unit;
