EthioChicken would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.
Position: Junior Data Engineer
Experience: 0–2 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, or a related field (internships or academic projects included).
Technical Skills:
- Basic proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL.
- Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Big Query).
- Familiarity with data concepts such as ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, or APIs.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to tackle data challenges.
Collaboration: Good communication and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Exposure to ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow, Google Cloud Composer).
- Basic understanding of real-time data processing or streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Stream Analytics, Google Cloud Dataflow).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker Studio).
- Knowledge of Business Central ERP or APIs (e.g., REST API, Django, FastAPI).
- Interest in DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines) or containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
