The Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI), formerly known as the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA), is a strategy and delivery-oriented government institute created to help accelerate the growth and transformation of Ethiopia’s agriculture sector, which is a key contributor to the country’s GDP, exports, and workforce.

The ATI’s work is centred on improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers (SHFs) across the country for improved income, inclusiveness, resilience, and sustainability.

Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency  would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Regional Junior Finance Officer Cashier

Required Qualification, Competencies and Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • At least 2 years’ relevant work experience as Junior finance Officer, Accountant or Cashier- Accountant or similar field
  • Previous experience in NGO’s, Donor/GOV’t Bilateral/Multilateral Organizations is an asset
  • Computer knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, particularly QuickBooks etc.) and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of local laws of the country
  • Willingness to work long hours and ability to work with other teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in oral and written English, Somaligna and Amharic languages
  • Strong team player with multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Strong attention to details, confidentiality and accuracy
  • Certification in Project management is preferred.

Duty Station(s): Jigjiga, Ethiopia

Position 2: Driver

Required Qualifications, Competencies, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Diploma/Certificate in Auto mechanic and Valid minimum of 3rd grade driving license.
  • Minimum 2 years of driving experience, with a good driving record.
  • Good skills in driving and safely and properly handling vehicles and goods
  • Able to perform all duties associated with operating a vehicle.
  • Must be able to accept and follow detailed instructions.
  • Economical driving skills and good backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and perform other duties as required and as assigned by the senior logistics manager or dispatcher.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship-building, developing/ maintaining contacts, and working with staff within and outside the Institute.
  • Willingness and experience in traveling to different parts of the country.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in English and Amharic (knowing regional languages is mandatory).

Duty Station(s): Assosa, Ethiopia

Position 3: Senior Project Officer II Agribusiness and Markets

Required Qualification, Competencies and Experience

• Minimum MA/MSc Agribusiness, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural economics, Development Economics, Business Management, cooperative marketing, and other relevant fields

• At least 8 years of experience directly related to agricultural marketing and promotion, private sector engagement, or related fields. Previous experience in humanitarian and development peace nexus activities is advantageous.

Duty Station(s): Jigjiga, Ethiopia

Position 4: Senior Project Officer II- Sub-Grant- Technical

Required Qualification, Competencies, Technical Knowledge and Experience:

  • MA degree in Project Management, Development studies, Gender and Development studies, social work, related field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in subgrant management, project and risk management, donor compliance, grant administration, and sub-recipient management, within donor funded projects, development partners, or multilateral institutions.
  • At least 2 years in a senior level or leadership role involving contractual and compliance oversight.
  • Proven experience in subgrant financial management, particularly within donor- funded or international development projects. Experience working with multi-donor programs in International Development and/or Agriculture sector is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance framework, including those of development partner; MCF, DANIDA, RNE, Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and European union (EU) and others.
  • Solid knowledge of Project management, Development partner compliance, budget management, database management, and systems-based grant management.
  • Familiarity with project cycle management (PCM), financial and grant reporting standards, and risk assessments and response skills.
  • Demonstrated subgrant management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationship with government, NGOs and private sector stakeholders.
  • Proficient in prioritizing high workloads in dynamic fast-paced settings and resolving emerging project needs creatively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with attention to detail and a proactive problem solving mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Project management skills and certification.
  • Experience with ERP is an advantage.

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with frequent travels to regions implementing sub grant project

Position 5: Senior Project Office II Sub-Grant- Finance

Required Qualification, Competencies, Technical Knowledge: , skills and Experience

  • MA/MBA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field from a recognized institution or a professional qualification such as ACCII.
  • A minimum of 8 years of direct experience in subgrant management, project and risk management, donor compliance, grant administration, and sub-recipient management, within donor funded projects, development partners, or multilateral institutions.
  • At least 2 years in a senior or leadership role involving contractual and compliance oversight.
  • Proven experience in subgrant financial management, particularly within donor- funded or international development projects. Experience working with multi-donor programs in International Development and/or Agriculture sector is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance framework, including those of DANIDA, RNE and other donors
  • Solid knowledge of accounting, budget management, database management, and financial systems.

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, with frequent travels to regions implementing subgrant projects

Position 6: Finance Officer

Required Qualification, Competencies and Experience:

  • MA/BA Degree in Accounting, or Accounting & Finance.
  • Work Experience – Minimum 2 years for MA /4 Years for BA as finance Officer, Accountant or Cashier Accountant.
  • Special Training- Computer knowledge in MS Office (Excel, Word, particularly QuickBooks etc.).
  • Prior Knowledge of Automated Accounting system like ERP is an asset.
  • Other Requirements knowledge of local laws of the country.
  • Willingness in working long hours and ability to work with other teams.
  • Commitment to ATI values.
  • Fluency in Regional language, English and Amharic is highly desired.

Duty Station(s): Bahir-Dar, Ethiopia

Position 7: Senior Project Officer II  PMER

Required Qualification, Competencies, and Experience:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in project monitoring and evaluation, project management, statistics, economics, agri-economics, development studies or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experiences in planning and implementing project monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) system, especially in the agriculture sector.
  • Proven experience in PMER with donor-funded projects implemented with multiple partners.
  • Experience in managing M&E system for youth employment in agriculture (crop, natural resource, livestock value chains) and MSME’s development is preferred.
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical and quality report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to device implementation approaches and guide project teams in the implementation and M&E to achieve target indicators.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and guidance on MEAL to program staff and implementing partners.
  • Ability to develop learning agenda and produce learnings on project impacts for wider dissemination and institutionalization.
  • Strong understanding of national strategic priorities and policies in the agriculture sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to develop stakeholder collaboration and partnerships.
  • Ability to stay composed and positive in difficult moments, and handle tense situations.
  • Ability to complete multiple assignments and produce quality results under tight schedules.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary team and develop collegial relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
