Its main objective is to ensure an orderly, fair, and efficient capital market environment for the issuance and trading of securities. ECMA grants licenses for various regulated activities, including security exchange, derivative exchange, security depository and clearing company, and over-the-counter trading facility. It also regulates primary and secondary markets of securities, electronic trading platforms, and self-regulatory organizations.
Ethiopian Capital Market Authority would like to invite qualified and interested job seekers to apply for the following different positions.
Position 1: Finance Officer
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and record accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures for accounts payable processing
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process payments to vendors, including checks, wire transfers, and cash payments
- Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions and vendor information
- Monitor and track expenses to ensure they are within budget and report any variances to management
- Keep and file all financial documents of the authority
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and reconciliations
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Receive properly registered and signed receipt vouchers, payment vouchers, and deposit slips
- Check, code and record each voucher and documents
- Process and record accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures for accounts receivable processing
- Generate and distribute invoices to customers and follow up on overdue payments
- Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable transactions and customer information
- Monitor and track revenue to ensure it is recognized in accordance with accounting standards and report any variances to management
- Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable, including accruals and reconciliations
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or disputes
- Process and maintain accurate payroll records for all employees in accordance with internal policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll processing, including tax laws and labor laws
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other stakeholders as required
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions and employee information
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and resolve any issues or disputes
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions
- Assist with month-end close activities related to payroll, including accruals and reconciliations
- Prepare payments by checking all supporting documents
- Properly Keep and file all financial documents of the authority
- Perform such other related duties as required.
Academic Qualifications:
BA Degree or Above in Finance, Accounting or a field related to the Job function from an accredited or recognized learning institution

Position 2: – Senior Internal Auditor
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform audit assignments by reviewing the authority business practices
- Develop and implement internal audit work plans and programs and track their implementation
- Carry out audit-needs assessment in liaison with section-heads and heads of departments
- Prepare a risk based annual audit plan for the approval of the Board Audit Committee
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and the operating systems
- Carry out investigation and special audits as requested by management, Board, or red flag noted by auditors
- Gather, Analyze, Evaluate and present accounting documents, reports, data, and flowcharts
- Assess the reliability of management information utilized in decision-making processes
- Prepare reports and provide guidance to the Board on financial controls and auditable issues
- Identify improper conduct within the authority and promote ethics

- Ensure all gaps and operational vulnerabilities are addressed

Job Summary:
- The Job holder is responsible for Playing a vital role in acquiring, maintaining, and updating technological solutions to help the Authority carry out its mandate.
- Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervising the planning execution & timely delivery of IT projects ,ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices
- Identify Tech needs and select and manage external vendors
- Provide induction on IT Policies
- Protect the safety and confidentiality of all information, storage, or backup.
- Setup a centralized information and database system; technical and desk support
- Evaluate and select vendors for system solutions, negotiating contracts and service level agreements
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms

- Provide user support on IT infrastructure, hardware and application troubleshooting

Position 6: Senior Market Development Officer
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement market development strategies that support ECMA’s goals and Objectives
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the capital markets industry.
- Identify potential investor base and develop strategies to attract them to the capital markets.
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders, including issuers, investors, brokers and regulators
- Collaborate with capacity building and communication unit to promote the capital market through various channels including events, conferences, and marketing campaigns.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-certification inspection
