The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest and largest humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia. ERCS provides services to communities affected by natural and manmade disasters through the provision of emergency responses, ambulance and first aid, family reunification, essential drugs, water and sanitation, and other humanitarian services. ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 12 Regional Offices, 34 Zonal Branches and 131 District/Woreda Branches, 599 Woreda Red Cross Committee and 5871 Kebele Red Cross committees.
ERCS also runs disaster risk reduction programs relating to food security, climate change adaptation, livelihood diversification, and institutional capacity building interventions, with the aim of creating resilience households and communities. ERCS works in partnership with the Ethiopian Government, International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Committee of the Red Cross, partnering National Societies, members, volunteers and the communities we serve.

Position 1: Human Resources Administration and Capacity Building Manager
Work Unit: – HR, General Service & Property Adm.
Reporting to: – HR, General Service & Property Adm. Director
Job Requirements
Job Specification:
- Second/First degree in Human Resource Management/ Personnel Management/ Management/ Public Administration, Business Management and
- 8/10 years related work experience, out of which 4/6 years on managerial position
Workplace: Addis Ababa
Position 2: Cash and Voucher Assistance Information Management Officer (Re-Advertised)
Work Unit: EPR /Disaster Risk Management
Reporting to: – CVA Coordinator
Terms of employment:-Contract for one year
Place of Work:- Addis Ababa
Job Requirements
Qualification Requirements:
- First degree or Second Degree in information technology management, computer science, social sciences OR first degree in these same fields with equivalent of proven work experience
- At least 4 years for Master’s degree and 6 years for BA degree in development cooperation and extensive field experience, preferable within the red cross and red Crescent movement.
Other Skills:
- High standard of integrity and communication skills;
- Manage interpersonal conflicts;
- Efficient and with ability to resolve problems;
- Able and willing to work as a team member, take direction and share skills with colleagues;
- Willing to learn and improve skills;
- Excellent written and spoken English, Amharic and other local language skills;
- Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills;
- Good team spirit and respect for diversity;
- Practical knowledge of computer skills:
