The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

 Position 1: Project Manager for Subnational Food System Dashboard

Key Responsibilities include

  • Defining project scope, activities and objectives in line with the GAIN business plans, programme frameworks, and organizational strategic priorities
  • Identifying, tracking and resolving project issues on an ongoing basis, and proactively seeking support where issues require wider attention and resolution
  • Leading a high-performance project team consisting of people across the organisation; bringing together the skills, experience and competencies required for successful project delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong partnerships with civil society, INGOs, government entities, private sector and other organisations
  • Working closely with Project Sponsors, QUADs and the POC to manage and deliver effective projects
  • Working with international finance to ensure that accurate budgets and forecasting are drawn up for all activities, and that activities costs are kept within budgets
  • Ensuring monthly project reporting (in line with GAINs Project Management Standards) to update management on program progress achieved, program plans, changes in direction and challenges encountered

Job Requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in project management in complex and diverse environments. You will have proven experience in delivering projects on time and within budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance.

The postholder will also have a proven ability in donor contracting, budget management and staff management.

In addition to this, you will possess fluent written and spoken English and will be highly flexible and willing to travel as and when required

You will have a demonstrable understanding of the gender and protection dynamics of humanitarian and development work, with the ability to capture this in the analysis and design of interventions. A Postgraduate university degree in business management, sustainable development, economics, development studies, peace and conflict studies or related field is an additional advantage. Applicants will possess a recognized international accreditation in a project management.

The ideal candidate will have excellent project management capabilities and a strong ability to work with diverse groups/individuals, ranging from local partners, local authorities, local community groups, the civil society and the private sector.

About our Offer

The starting salary on offer for this role is from ETB 1,027,788 – ETB 1,175,796 per annum (gross salary), depending on experience.

GAIN has a fair and competitive salary structure that allows for annual progression subject to good performance. In addition, GAIN offers a total of 37 days holiday per year (including annual leave, public holidays and additional office closure days), an attractive pension scheme and competitive insurance cover including health, travel and life assurance.

Position 2: Internship Position – Admin Assistant For SBN ETHIOPIA

Role and Responsibilities:

The intern that is going to work as an Administrative Assistant of SBN is responsible for

  • Providing administrative support to the secretary general and other members of the executive team.
  • Handles office documentation related to meetings and other company events as well as being responsible for maintaining office supplies.

Assisting the financial management of SBN including budgeting, forecasting, and processing of cash transactions

  • The Intern (Administrative Assistant) will be the primary point of contact for internal and external contacts and will provide guidance and assistance in completing tasks by prioritizing responsibilities, keeping schedules, maintaining calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field (Fresh graduate – 2021 – 2023 GC/2013 – 2015 EC)
  • Previous experience in an administrative role is a plus.
  • Open and quick to learn.
  • Accuracy in the processing of cash transactions, mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy with excellent` Microsoft Office Suite (MS word, MS Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Tally skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task

Position 3: Senior Grants Management and Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that all GAIN Ethiopia and sub-awardee and service providers/consultants’ activities are in line with contractual obligations and agreements with respective donor’s requirements as well as in compliance with Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) requirements regarding vendors, purchasing regulations, program and admin cost proportions, equipment inventory and other related compliances
  • Overseeing the full grant cycle of sub-award/sub-grant management activities, from proposal to selection, pre-award evaluation, negotiation, monitoring/compliance visits, and closing of the project in accordance with GAIN guidelines and Government of Ethiopia requirements
  • Support the Head of Operations in providing technical support to sub-awardees /sub-grantees in management of sub grants by facilitating training and mentoring visits to strengthen their capacity and efficient utilization of funds
  • Monitoring and leading sub-award (Executing Agency) site audits and preparing site visit reports
  • Acting as the focal point for all organizational compliance and legal registration matters
  • Collaborating with finance officer in monthly monitoring of grants and sub-awardee budgets, expenditure tracking, timely reporting and implementation of risk mitigating measures
  • Undertaking periodic reviews to ensure the Country Office meets its financial, technical and compliance objectives. Reviewing and verifying of expenditure and completeness of documentations on a monthly basis
  • Review supporting documentation on a monthly or quarterly basis as required to ensure the country office follows GAIN and donor policies and local requirements

Job Requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping or auditing preferably in an international NGO. You should be familiar with major international donor rules and non-profit accounting and computerized, double-entry accounting software.

The postholder will possess fluent written and spoken English and Amharic and will be highly flexible and willing to travel. You will also have the ability to focus and pay attention to details and accuracy in the processing of cash transactions and mathematical aptitude.

You will be computer literate in Microsoft Office and familiar with QuickBooks, Navision or similar accounting software. University degree in in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field. Master’s degree or ACCA in Accounting is an additional advantage.

The starting salary on offer for this role is from ETB 735,900 – ETB 841,620 per annum (gross salary), depending on experience.
