The Ministry of Education has approved the “Guidelines for Drafting, Revision and Approval of Academic Programs and Curriculum of Government Higher Education Institutions”.

It has been stipulated in a decree that the Ministry has the authority to confirm and approve the programs opened by government institutions of higher education after they have been studied and presented to him in terms of the development design and importance of the country.
The new directive approved by the Ministry of Justice as Directive No. 917/2014; It has been announced that it has been signed and distributed by the Minister of Education Berhanu Nega (Prof.) for higher education institutions to implement.
The new guidelines have five sections and 22 articles; It has been established that it is valid from August 01/2014.

Guidelines for designing, revising and approving academic programs and curricula of public higher education institutions
የትምህርት ሚኒስቴር “የመንግስት ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት የአካዳሚክ ፕሮግራሞችና ሥርዓተ ትምህርት ቀረፃ፣ ክለሳና ማፅደቂያ መመሪያ”ን አጽድቋል።
መመሪያው የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት የአካዳሚክ ፕሮግራሞችና ሥርዓተ ትምህርቶች ከዓለም አቀፍ፣ ከቀጠናዊ እና ከአካባቢያዊ የልማት አጀንዳዎች ጋር ተጣጥመው እንዲሄዱ ለማድረግ ያስችላል ተብሏል።
ሚኒስቴሩ የመንግስት ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት የሚከፍቷቸውን ፕሮግራሞች ከሀገሪቱ የልማት ቀረፃና አስፈላጊነት አንፃር ተጠንተው ሲቀርቡለት አግባብነታቸውን አረጋግጦ የማጽደቅ ስልጣን እንዳለው በአዋጅ ተደንግጓል።
መመሪያ ቁጥር 917/2014 ሆኖ በፍትህ ሚኒስቴር የጸደቀውን አዲሱን መመሪያ፤ የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት ተግባራዊ እንዲያደርጉ በትምህርት ሚኒስትሩ ብርሃኑ ነጋ (ፕ/ር) ተፈርሞ መሰራጨቱ ታውቋል።
አምስት ክፍሎች እና 22 አንቀጾች ያሉት አዲሱ መመሪያ፤ ከነሐሴ 01/2014 ዓ.ም ጀምሮ የጸና እንደሆነ ተደንግጓል።
