International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: MaYEA Program Cluster Enterprise Development Officer

Major Roles and Responsibilities

The Omo-Konso Cluster / Gamo-Gofa Cluster Enterprise Development Officer is responsible for implementing the Omo-Konso Cluster / Gamo-Gofa Cluster MaYEA program enterprise development component in selected Woredas of South Omo and Konso Zones / Gamo and Gonfa Zones of South Ethiopia Region. He / She will work within the wider MaYEA program team and other IIRR staff. He / She is accountable to the respective cluster coordinator and coordinates with the CSSW sub-national technical leads, other program officers within his/her cluster and the other IIRR cluster office. Moreover, he/she is responsible for the follow-up of the overall MaYEA resource management and communications of the

Cluster’s enterprise development component to adhere to all universal and MasterCard Foundation, IIRR, Federal and Regional Governments, and program-specific standards and procedures.

Reports to : MaYEA Program Cluster Coordinator

Terms of Employment: Fixed Term (One year with possibility of extension based on performance)

Number of Position : Two

Job Requirements

Qualification and Competence

Educational  Background:  

BA/MBA  in  Agri-business,  Agro-economics,  Agricultural  resource economics and management, agribusiness and value chain management, Business Management, and Economics.

Work Experience:

 A minimum of 10 years’ experience for BSC and six years for MSC, with a minimum of 4 years direct experience related to the position.

Skills and competencies required:

  • Proven skill and track record in team work, coordination, partnership building, multi- stakeholder engagement, networking, effective communication & facilitation, problem solving & decision making.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
  • Ability to think and lead strategically while managing details
  • Advanced computer skill.
  • Integrity and honesty, hardworking, firm belief in human equality, transparency and respect to others are core values needed.
  • Prior experience in apiary and honey and allied value chain development is advantageous.

Workplace: Arbaminch or Jinka, with frequent travel to MaYEA Program Cluster areas

Position 2: MaYEA Program Cluster Apiculture Development Officer

Reports to : The respective cluster coordinator

Terms of Employment: Fixed Term (One year with possibility of extension based on performance)

Number of Position: Two

Qualification and Competence

Educational Background:

BA/MBA in Sociology, Gender, Social Works, Law, psychology and other related fields.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience for BA and 6 years for MA, with a minimum of 6 years direct experience related to the position. Direct experience on gender, youth engagement and safeguarding are desirable
  • Experience on executing and managing complex programs related to livelihood development, rural finance, agribusiness development, marketing and value chain, youth employment and inclusive development are advantageous

Skills and competencies required

  • Proven skill and track record in team work, coordination, partnership building, multi-stakeholder engagement, networking, effective communication & facilitation, problem solving & decision making.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
  • Ability to think and lead strategically while managing details

Position 4: MaYEA Program Sub-national hub Gender, Youth and Safeguarding Lead

Major Roles and Responsibilities

The Sub-national Gender, Youth and Safeguarding Lead is responsible for the overall implementation of the Central, South, and Southwest (CSSW) Sub-National Hub MaYEA program Gender and Youth and Safeguarding  component  in  selected  Woredas  of  Oromia,  Gambela,  Sidama,  Central  Ethiopia,  South Ethiopia and South West Ethiopia Regions. He / She will work within the wider MaYEA program team and other IIRR and implementing partners (SOS Sahel Ethiopia and MELCA Ethiopia) staff. He / She is accountable to the Sub-national Program Director and coordinates with other sub-national technical leads, implementing partners, and the two IIRR cluster leads (Omo-Konso Cluster and Gamo-Gofa Cluster).

 Moreover, he/she is responsible for the follow-up of Gender and Youth and safeguarding-related resource management and communications of the CSSW-MaYEA program to adhere to all universal and MasterCard Foundation, IIRR, Federal and Regional Governments, and program-specific standards and procedures.

Reports to : MaYEA Program subnational hub Director

Terms of Employment:  Fixed Term (One year with possibility of extension based on performance)

Number of Position: One

Qualification and Competence

Educational Background:

MA in Sociology, Gender, Social Works, Law, psychology, and other related fields.

A minimum of 10 years’ experience, with a minimum of 6 years direct experience related to the position.
