Position 1: Project Assistant – Construction
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- University degree in Civil/structural Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related field of study or a combination of training and relevant working experience
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Civil and structural Engineering projects;
- Demonstrated capacity and experience in the use of AutoCAD, ProgeCAD, ArcGIS, and RCD 2000.
- Previous work experience in the engineering field especially in UN Agencies is an advantage;
- Excellent experience in supervision of construction works with a track record of having undertaken construction or renovation of similar funding scale;
- Experience and ability to produce and/or check the drawings including but not limited to site plans, architectural, structural and MEP drawings, cost estimation, BOQ and other layout plans which may be presented by prospective contractor(s);
- Experience in working with international organisations, governmental institutions, and/or aid organizations an asset;
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, able to maintain accuracy, paying attention to details, meeting deadlines and working with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills with proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with a team of colleagues;
- Effectively applies knowledge of Civil and structural Engineering of relevant theories and practices, and recognizes their application within existing IOM processes;
- Anticipates and understands internal and external issues and opportunities that may impact the construction programme landscape of IOM;
- Understanding of Construction management framework approach is considered as an asset;
- Adapts best Civil and structural Engineering practices to the requirements of IOM to facilitate the achievement of strategic objectives;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity in performing responsibilities assigned.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment

Position 2: Project Assistant-Durable Solution
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
· University degree in Law, Political Science and International Relations, Conflict Resolutions, Disaster Risk Management, Early Recovery or any related Social Science fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in post crisis, recovery and community stabilization areas- preferably in the field of durable solution assistance to internally displaced persons;
- Experience related to coordination, partnership, networking and advocacy strategies and practices.
- Rich knowledge and experience in the patterns, trends and drivers of internal displacement in the Somali region is advantageous
Skills:
- Proven ability to build synergies with government counterparts, relevant humanitarian partners and coordination mechanisms
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with strong coordination skills strategies, encroaches and guidelines

Position 3: Project Assistant – Off-farm Livelihoods
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
University Masters/ first degree in Social Sciences, preferably Rural Development, Agricultural Extension, Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change, Environment Protection, and related fields.
Computer/software literate, preferably knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in recovery, development, and humanitarian assistance sector- preferably in the field of Agriculture, Cooperatives, Disaster Risk Management interface with focus on off-farm livelihood.
- Technical expertise in off-farm and small-scale livelihood projects are extremely favoured.
Skills:
- Proven ability to transfer skills and knowledge in small business livelihoods project.
- Proven ability to build synergies with government counterparts, relevant humanitarian partners and coordination mechanisms.
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills in non-agricultural (off-farm) project interventions.
- Proven ability to build synergies with government counterparts, relevant humanitarian partners and coordination mechanisms.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with strong coordination skills strategies, encroaches and guidelines

Position 4: Project Assistant – On-farm Livelihoods
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
• University Degree in Rural Development Studies, Livelihoods, Agricultural Extension, Horticulture, Plant Science, and related fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in recovery, development, and humanitarian assistance sector- preferably in the field of Agriculture, Food Security, Recovery, Community Resilience, Disaster Risk Management interface with focus on livelihoods.
- Experience and technical expertise in on-farm and small-scale agriculture projects implementation.
- Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis.
- Experience of working in similar contexts / in the proposed regions and zones would be an added advantage.
Skills:
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills in small scale agriculture project
- Proven ability to build synergies with government counterparts, relevant humanitarian partners and coordination mechanisms
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with strong coordination skills strategies, encroaches and guidelines

Position 5: Referral Assistant – Social Cohesion
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
University degree in Community Development, Rural Development, Sociology, Social Anthropology, Cultural Studies and Humanities or related field from an accredited academic institution
Work Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience with community-based approach on social change and development as well as solid experience on planning and implementation of similar interventions.
- Substantial experience in the community mobilization and facilitation of community dialogue and community initiatives and experience on Community Conversation, Asset Based Community Development Approach etc.
- Sound knowledge of development programme planning and implementation objectives.
- Excellent use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook and Word software.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
Skills:
- Proven ability to transfer knowledge and skills in small scale social cohesion project.
- Proven ability to build synergies with government counterparts, relevant humanitarian partners and coordination mechanisms.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with strong coordination skills strategies, encroaches and guidelines

Position 6: IMCT Technical Support Assistant
Required Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification
Completed University degree, preferably in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or in other related fields from an accredited academic institution or a combination of relevant education and professional experience.
Valid and relevant certification such as Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, etc. would be an advantage.
Experience
A minimum 2-year professional experience and knowledge on:
WAN/LAN/Cloud infrastructure and TCP/IP networking
Windows-based domain servers and computer
Microsoft Office (desktop and cloud) applications
Business applications and management systems
Document and/or Content management systems
IT Service Management frameworks
Service Desk issue-tracking systems
Telephony systems
Skills:
- Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language to non-technical staff and end-users.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in determining and providing solutions, and able to manage workload priorities for assigned tasks.
- Ability to provide IT Technical Support with a service-oriented and customer-satisfaction mindset; focused on quick and positive response/feedback to clients.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills; experience in aiding projects and follow assignments and tasks through known project management frameworks and methodologies.
