International Rescue Committee – IRC would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: Livelihood Officer

Job Requirements

  • MSc/BSc Degree in Agricultural Economics, General Agriculture, and/or related agricultural field of study or certification.
  • Minimum work experience of 1 year for MSc Degree holders, 2 years for BSc Degree holders 
  • NGO experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in humanitarian response, with specific experience in livelihoods and Food security and agricultural development approaches.
  • Proven agriculture sector experience, or experience supporting smallholder farmers in livelihood recovery.
  • Prior experience working in emergency settings or insecure environments preferred.
  • Strong program/technical, team leadership skills, planning, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties
  • INGO experience required, experience with coordination systems or advocacy preferable.
  • Must be capable of applying skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct data collection and analysis, implementation, advisory functions, training, and the transfer of technical knowledge and leadership skills to others.
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory, and Afaan Oromo is advantageous.
  • Ability of basic computer skills mainly, MS word, Excel, internet etc.
  • Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Flexible and able to handle pressure well, has a strong sense of humor.

Position 2: Project Consortium Manager

Job Requirements

  • MA/MSc equivalent in Water resources and Development, Public Health, Environmental Health, Social Science, developmental studies, and/ or another related field of studies,
  • Minimum of 5/3 years of professional work experience for BA and MA respectively.
  • Has management and coordination skills (project management in consortium, country projects, multicultural technical teams, etc.).
  • Previous experiences in translating analysis and evaluation into operational planning and strategy.
  • Has excellent written and oral communications skills, and you have advanced knowledge of donors’ guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong communication: networking and representation skills and you can collaborate with government officials and lead dialogue and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated experience in humanitarian response, with specific experience in livelihoods and Food security and agricultural development approaches.
  • Prior experience working in emergency settings or insecure environments preferred.

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements:

BSc in Water Resource Engineering or Hydraulic Engineering

Preferred experience & skills:

  • 2 years of relevant experience with the first degree or diploma with 5 years of experience
  • 1 year of relevant experience plus post graduate degree                                                                             
  • NGO experience is a plus
  • Experience in budget management
  • Basic supervisory skills
  • Familiarity working in the region is an advantage
  • Technical and report writing skills
  • Proficient in basic operating systems, AUTOCAD, WATCAD, EPHANET
  • Language Skills:  Very good communication skill in English; knowledge of local language is an advantage.

Position 4: Community Well-being Initiative (CWI) Officer

Job Requirements

  • NGO experience is a plus.
  • Related work and field experiences in counseling or social service provision with women and adolescent girls.
  • Demonstrated confidence in discussing intimate gender and sexuality issues.
  • Able to always maintain GBV and protection principles – including knowledge and practical application of the GBV Guiding Principles and PSEA.
  • Familiarity working in the region is an advantage.

Educational Requirements:

  • First degree with 2 years of experience in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Women’s Studies, or any other social science related field. Or diploma with 5 years of experience.
  • 1 year of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.

Preferred experience & skills:

  • Basic supervisory/managerial skills
  • Technical and report writing skills.
  • Computer literate (ability to use MS office, word, excel, and outlook email applications very well)
  • Knowledge of English language is mandatory and local language is advantageous.

Position 5: Senior Sanitation and Hygiene Promotion Officer

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years for diploma, 2 years for degree and 1 year for post graduate holders of relevant experience – Essential in the WASH sector.
  • Relevant work experience on hygiene promotion with I/NGO in development, emergency, or refugee settings – Preferable
  • Previous experience of implementing participatory hygiene promotion and sanitation methods (e.g., PHAST, CLTS/H, CHC, CHAST) and organizing campaigns on key hygiene themes
  • Previous experience of implementing institutional (schools & health facilities) hygiene promotions/educations
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as to work autonomously when required.
  • Very good at computer- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and e-mail)

Educational Requirements

University Degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Nursing, Community Development, Health Education, or any other related field from recognized University with proven experience of at least 2 years for degree and 1 years for Masters

Preferred competency, experience & skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.

Language Skills:

Very good communication skills (verbal and written) in English language. Knowledge of the local language is an advantage.

Position 7: Water Technician officer

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year for postgraduate, 2 years for first degree or diploma with 5 years of proven relevant experience in areas of generator installation, generator servicing and maintenance, pump installation and servicing, plumbing and related water works.
  • NGO experience is a plus.
  • Working under stressful conditions and ability to prioritize among urgent tasks.
  • Basic supervisory/managerial skill.
  • Technical report writing skill.
  • Computer literate.

Educational Requirements:

BSC/Diploma in Electro-Mechanical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from recognized university/college/TVET.

Preferred competency, experience & skills:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time.
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills
  • Good ability in communication, work both independently and in a dynamic teamwork.
