Position 1: Senior Child Protection Officer Re-Advert
Job Overview/Summary:
The Child Protection (CP) Senior Officer will work with CP staff and IRC’s implementing partner(s) to ensure that activities are provided following IRC – CP standards, including policies and strategies. She/he will oversee the provision of safe and appropriate CP response and prevention services and interventions to reduce risks faced by children and their families. The CP Senior Officer will provide technical guidance, training, and support to the IRC CP staff and IRC’s implementing partner staff.
Educational Requirements:
- BA/BSC or MA or Diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Social anthropology, Human Rights, Humanities, and other related Social Science field.
Preferred experience & skills:
- Required Worker experience for BA/BSC 2 years, for MA 1 year, and for diploma holder 5 years of work experience in implementing child protection programs in humanitarian or development settings.
- Understanding of case management and PSS to promote healing and recovery.
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients/beneficiaries.
- Previous experience leading teams on CP response strategies and demonstrated understanding of working with children, particularly vulnerable children.
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting.
- High degree of flexibility and strong ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Language Skills:
- Language: Fluent in English required
- Local language (Tigrigna) is plus

Position 2: Proposal Development Coordinator Re-Advert
Job Overview/Summary:
Based in Addis Ababa, the Proposal Development Coordinator will support the country program by responding to program funding gaps and needs, and by leading and advising on the proposal development needs of the country office. Support will include all phases of the proposal development process, from opportunity identification to contract signature, including pre-positioning, partnerships building, proposal development and writing, and due diligence phases. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of working on new funding opportunities in humanitarian and international development with a range of multilateral and bilateral donors.
Job Requirements
- 6 years of substantial experience and a successful track record leading large proposal teams on complex subjects, multi-year, multi-partner proposals with minimal direction.
- Proficiency in developing and supporting humanitarian and development proposals for NGOs.
- Familiarity with strategies and proposal processes of key government/statutory donors – US Government (USAID, BHA, BPRM, etc.), FCDO, EU institutions (ECHO, EUTF), and other donors (GAC, Sida, FCDO, GFFO, SDC, etc.).
- Experience in collaborating with and supporting national and community-based partners.
Skills required:
- Proposal budgeting skills is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate across a variety of relationships in a multicultural environment.
- Proven ability to collaborate equally effectively with colleagues in remote and diverse teams, including as team leader for proposals.
- Clear, compelling writing skills, with previous experience in proposal writing.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively

Position 3: Roving Supply Chain Manager-Warehouse (6 months) – Re- Advert
Position Overview:
Roving Supply Chain Manager is a key position to the success and delivery of quality programs. IRC defines Supply Chain as those systems and support functions necessary to implement programs effectively, inclusive of procurement, logistics, inventory management, property, and asset management as well as vehicle and fleet management.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in logistics, Supply chain management, Accounting, or any other relevant field of study.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Minimum of 4 years of working experience of USAID/OFDA/UNHCR/OCHA grants in addition to excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to determine priorities and attention to detail a must. Ability to deal with professional people from programs, operations, and finance backgrounds.
- High-level skills in Word and Excel. Skills in PowerPoint and other applications is an advantage.
- Ability to analyses and synthesis a variety of material in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on their own, a self-starter with high energy levels and the capability to work within a multi-cultural team.
- Field experiences a must.
- Willingness to travel to field sites for 65% his/her time.

Position overview:
The Supply Chain Assistant-Procurement is responsible for the efficient coordination and management of procurement functions for IRC’s office. The position holder will procure Program supplies, services, and equipment, whilst ensuring good practices and maintaining audit-compliant records. You will ensure that all purchases of goods and services are done transparently, at the best available price, and in compliance with IRC and donor procurement policy and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Work experience in supply chain operations (Procurement) particularly pharmaceutical.
Educational Requirements:
BA/BSC Degree in Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Financial Accounting or a related field
Preferred experience & skills:
- 1 year of work experience in supply chain operations (Procurement) particularly pharmaceutical
- Experience working with NGOs preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time
- Strong analytic problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional global team structure
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to manage and work through change in a proactive and positive manner.

Position 5: Community Engagement & Development (CED) Officer- Maternity Cover
Job Overview/Summary:
IRC Ethiopia program is implementing a multi-year, EUTF supported project entitled, “LISEC-Green Jobs in Leather Sector in the Modjo town (Leather Initiative for Sustainable Economic Opportunities). Through programming in youth livelihoods/leadership, social cohesion, combating GBV, tailored capacity improvement of the community and local government and, the project is intended to contribute to strengthening social cohesion by supporting local economic and social development initiatives, especially for women and youth living in Modjo area; and improving industrial and labor relations in the MLC.
Job Requirements
- MSc/BSc Degree in Community Development, Social Science, Environmental Science, International Development, and/or equivalent.
- Minimum work experience of 2 year for MSc Degree holders, 3 years for BSc Degree holders with communities for development activities.
- NGO experience is a plus.
Required Job competencies:
- Demonstrated experience in community development activities, with specific experience in corporate social responsibility (CSR), community conversation (CC) and livelihoods development approaches.
- Proven private sector experience, or experience supporting community development initiatives
- Strong program/technical, team leadership skills, planning, reporting, monitoring, and evaluation skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills, effective in representation and liaison with external parties
- INGO experience required, experience with coordination systems or advocacy preferable
- Must be capable of applying skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct data collection and analysis, implementation, advisory functions, training, and the transfer of technical knowledge and leadership skills to others
- Proficiency in English, Afaan Oromo and Amharic language is required.
- Ability of basic computer skills mainly, MS word, Excel, internet etc.
- Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
- Flexible and able to handle pressure well, has a strong sense of humor.
