Kerchanshe Trading Company would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Industrial Machinery Installation and Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities:

Installation Oversight:

  • Lead and supervise the installation of industrial machinery, including Pumps, Generators, sorting, and processing machines, at various sites and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during installation processes.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop installation plans, timelines, and resource requirements.

Maintenance Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and perform breakdown and preventive maintenance for Pumps, Generators, sorting, and processing machines at different project sites.
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective and preventive maintenance measures.
  • Record equipment history and maintenance data, organizing the information centrally at the main office.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, lead, and develop the maintenance team at various project sites.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of competency within the team.

Data Management:

  • Maintain detailed records of equipment history, maintenance activities, and performance metrics.
  • Organize and manage data centrally to facilitate effective decision-making.

Regular Machine Condition Monitoring:

  • Regularly follow up on the condition of machinery at different project sites.
  • Implement measures to enhance machinery reliability and performance.

Usage Strategy and Consultation:

  • Devise usage strategies for different types of machinery to optimize performance.
  • Consult with machine operators to improve overall machine utilization and efficiency.

Technology Consultation:

  • Stay informed about new technological innovations in machinery relevant to the industry.
  • Advise management on the adoption of new technologies and machinery to enhance overall productivity and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in industrial machinery installation and maintenance, with a minimum of 10 years’ hands on experience on technical position with a minimum of three years’ experience  on a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of machinery systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in project management and budgeting.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Position 2: Farm Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Generic Duties

  • Plans, leads, organizes, staffs & controls department’s overall activities,
  • Designs and implements procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency,
  • Assesses risks by following industry trends to ensure profitability, company survival and provide solutions,
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback,
  • Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises

Main Duties

  • Manage and oversee field(s) preparation, soils amendments, fertilization, and ground cover plan development,
  • Leads irrigation and Integrated Pest management tasks,
  • Monitor and implement procedures to maintain and improve farmyards quality,
  • Monitor Irrigation, erosion control, trellis and irrigation installation and maintenance tasks,
  • Ensure that all necessary farm equipment’s are on site and in good operating condition prior to work, supervise equipment maintenance and make sure that workers properly utilize equipment,
  • Prepares plans and schedules for planting and harvesting,
  • Visit the different divisions to inspect crops, livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water.
  • Ensures seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  • Monitor work environment cleanness in compliance with country, state, and federal regulations,
  • Research, identify and assist in the determination of proper seeds varietals to be procured and planted,
  • Work with nursery consultants to research, identify and assist in the determination of the best planting locations of the selected seed varietals,
  • Research, identify and assist in the selection of trellis systems, irrigation methods, fertilization/herbicides, and predator methods of application or deterrent,
  • Ensure all of predator fencing systems, trellis systems, irrigation/ fertilization systems and planting of the farmyards are asper the standard,
  • Research, identify and assist in the determination of proper field equipment/ tool needs to maintain all related operations.
  • Manage and oversee all planting, plant training, maintenance, fertilization, irrigation, herbicide / pesticide / predator controls systems/processes, and trellis systems and harvesting,
  • Prepare, review, and submit timely reports to the relevant organ,
  • Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills

BSc or MSc in Agricultural Engineering or Horticulture or Plant science or Agronomy or   related field of studies.

Work Experience:

10 years for BSc

 8 years for MSc

Position 3: Certification Officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses if farming and agro processing operation is processed risk free of child labor, forced labor and human trafficking, discrimination, workplace violence and harassment, including sexual and gender-based violence,
  • Sets clear minimum and progressive criteria to ensure that the conditions for farming and agro processing is practiced in accordance with international regulations & standards without affecting environment and living habitats,
  • Ensures that there is a defined system for keeping track of farming input suppliers and sales information status as per the standard.
  • Follows up the daily routine of workers, engaged in coffee processing activities.
  • Facilitates and arranges all the necessary records for the third-party independent verifier’s process of evaluation.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Position 4: Out Growers Support & Certification Officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as focal person for all certification and standards-related needs
  • Recruits and registers farmers, signs an agreement on behalf of the Company
  • Trains outgrowing farmers in annual basis and provide technical support
  • Recruits, trains and mobilizes internal inspectors
  • Plans and undertakes internal inspections
  • Undertakes yield estimation and reports it to site managers and the certification department
  • Organizes field data, makes an updates
  • Prepares certification documents and submits on timely basis
  • Prepares traceability documentation and makes a follow up
  • Monitors the implementation of policy documents, quality manuals, Standard Operational Procedures, at site level
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

Qualification

BSC in Environmental science, Agriculture, Natural resource Management, or other related fields.

Experience:

3years experience

Skills:

  • Communication and leadership skills,
  • MS Office skills,
  • Organization and planning skills,
  • Local language for the specific site

Position 5: Human Resource Information System Expert

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date HR information in the Human Resource Information System.
  • Prepares and provides appropriate, timely and accurate HR information to support the Company’s strategy development, decision-making and improve the effectiveness of HR services.
  • Supports the development, implementation and continued operation of the Company’s HR strategies and initiatives by providing accurate and appropriate information as required.
  • Develops and delivers a range of regular and ad hoc HR reports and analysis, covering all aspects of HR including workforce diversity profile, turnover, reward, recruitment, staff development, promotions, personal review and development plans (appraisal), grievances, disciplinary actions, sickness, absenteeism, etc.
  • Organizes archival records and develops classification system to facilitate access to archival materials.
  • Acquires and processes new archival materials and maintain records of document.
  • Receives Stores, issues and returns file catalog cards according to system used.
  • Checks items in and out of archival and removes out dated items in consultation with manager.
  • Supports the preparation of information for surveys.
  • Supports the design, selection and implementation or modification of HRIS and other HR computer solutions.
  • Maintains the confidentiality and integrity of all HR information in accordance with the Company’s policy, procedure and codes of practice.
  • Partners with cross-functional team members and IT team members on HRIS-related issues/enhancements/queries.
  • Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
  • Sequentially files all documents in the employee’s official personal record /OPR
  • Folder and file in appropriate cabinet.
  • Maintains the secretary of information availed to him /her

Qualification and Skills:

BA in Human Resource Management/Management Information System/Business Information System/Business Administration/Management or related fields.

Experience:

2 years’ experience and above

Workplace: head office, Addis Ababa
