Life is tough, but water is tougher

Life is tough, but water is tougher. Be like water and thrive in any circumstance.

Aimee Mullins, born on July 20, 1975, faced a unique challenge from the very beginning of her life.

She was born without fibular bones, resulting in the amputation of both her legs below the knee when she was just one year old.

With the support of her family, she learned to walk using prosthetic legs.

Mullins discovered her love for sports and began participating in competitive events, competing against able-bodied athletes, and excelling in her events. She broke records in multiple track and field disciplines and quickly gained recognition for her extraordinary abilities.

In 1996, at the age of 21, Mullins participated in the Paralympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia setting world records in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump.

Mullins ventured into the world of modeling and acting. She became the first amputee to walk the runway at London Fashion Week. Mullins’ unique and striking appearance captured the attention of designers and photographers worldwide, leading to numerous modeling opportunities and collaborations.

Mullins made her debut in the 1998 film “Cremaster 3” and went on to appear in several other movies and TV shows

She continues to be a beacon of strength, breaking barriers, and reminding us all to embrace life’s flow and create our own paths to success and fulfillment

Here are some points on how to be like water and thrive in any circumstances:

1) Water does not get set into one form. It can mold itself to fit any container, whether it is a cup, a bottle, or a teapot. Similarly, you should be open to new ideas, perspectives, and opportunities without being rigid or dogmatic.

2) Water is clear and transparent. It does not hold on to any impurities or distractions. Empty your mind of negative thoughts, emotions, and beliefs that may cloud your vision or hinder your growth.

3) Flow with the current of life. Water can flow smoothly or crash violently depending on the situation. It does not resist or avoid the obstacles or changes that come its way. Instead, it adapts and finds a way around or through them. Similarly, you can flow with the challenges and changes that life brings you.

4) Water can change its state from solid to liquid to gas depending on the temperature and pressure. Likewise, you can detach yourself from your ego, your roles, your labels, or your attachments that may define you or confine you.

5) Water does not have an ego, it does not seek recognition, praise, or fame. It does not compare itself to others or compete with them. Similarly, you can let go of your ego and be humble and authentic. You can appreciate your strengths and weaknesses without being arrogant or insecure

Be like water so that you can navigate challenges, adapt to different situations, and thrive in all aspects of life.
