Position 1: Market Systems Development (MSD) Coordinator
Essential Job Functions:
- Oversee and coordinate field level MSD team and activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of planned activities.
- Provide technical leadership to field team in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of MSD activities;
- Advises the Cluster Program Manager on related MSD activities and supports to ensure better RIPA overall implementation in the cluster;
- Manage relationship with relevant government stakeholders, public and private partners including key actors (inputs suppliers, producers, information service providers, and other appropriate actors) in the target area for better success;
- Facilitate private sector engagement in his/her respective responsibility in the region by bringing innovative ideas and initiatives to MSD team;
- Work closely with all RIPA component team members ensuring activity integration and achieve overall RIPA goal;
- Contributes to the key monitoring and measuring indicators, milestones and plans in close collaboration with MSD and M&E team, and be responsible for monitoring and reporting outputs and outcome indicators in each component;
- Ensures the program captures and updates information about market developments within the components;
- Compile and submit regular updates/reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly); and
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in private sector is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, economics, business administration or other related field, or commensurate private sector or field experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in private sector or working with other agencies in program coordination, market systems facilitation, production, agribusiness and/or financial services.

- Fluent in English, Amharic and local language for the location applied: Somali (capable in all require basic skills: reading, listening, speaking, and writing).

Position 2: TSFP Field workers

Knowledge and Experience
Diploma in health-related fields
- More than 3 years of working experience with NGOs
- Willingness and ability to perform field works and travel to remote areas within the sites.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse ethnic groups throughout the sites.
- Previous experience in anthropometric measurement and data collection
- Previous work experience with a non-governmental organization, especially Mercy corps in the area of community work.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Organized, reliable and good communication skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English and knowledge of the local language is mandatory.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team.
Success Factors
- Ability and willingness to frequently travel to villages and willingness to reside in rural areas.
- Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficult and frustrating working conditions like long-distance walking to distribution sites.

- Ability to read, write and speak English and Local Language fluently

Position 5: Procurement Officer

General Position Summary:
Reporting to The Procurement Manger, the Procurement Officer is responsible for the timely procurement of goods and services for all Mercy Corps field offices in Ethiopia. Working closely with Program, Administration, Finance and Logistics the Procurement Officer is instrumental in supporting program activities through his/her services.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supplies Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Management, or any related field.
- Two years and above work experience in Large Scale Procurement management
- Willingness and ability to perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent analytical skills, Good interpersonal and communication skills, Good organizational skills, and Willingness and ability to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
- Strong computer skills in MS Excel, and MS Word programs.

Position 6: Cash and Livelihood Officer

Duration of the project: 10 Months
Position Summary:
The Cash and Livelihood Officer will be responsible for planning, implementation, supervision and reporting of Humanitarian Response to the Crisis in Afar (HURECA) project focused on Livelihood and Multipurpose Cash Assistance sectors for highly vulnerable IDPs/returnees/ conflict affected community program participants to support them in meeting their basic needs. The position holder will monitor the context and implementation environment to ensure it remains conducive for livelihood and multipurpose cash assistance interventions for future expansion; and work with other sectors (WASH and Shelter and settlement) for better integration and synergies to maximize the impact for program participants. This position requires an individual who is accustomed to the pace of emergency response progr. She/he will also be responsible for identifying priority needs, target beneficiaries, establishing relationships with local government, facilitating and follow up of proper distribution and documentation of cash payments to beneficiaries. amming, does not require close supervision or direction, and is flexible and highly responsive.
Job Requirements
- Has BA/Bsc/Msc/MA degree from a recognized university in Business Management, Economics, Rural development and agricultural extension, and related fields.
- At least four years proven work experience in humanitarian organization(s) in CVA and livelihood programming preferably with IDPs and returnees related programmes, or project management in relief and recovery programmes.
- At least 2 years’ experience in an international NGO preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting.
- Experience with and knowledge of national Livelihood strategy and Humanitarian principles and standards.
- Analytic and computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, design packages.
- Demonstrated commitment to principles of gender, equity, diversity, inclusion and PSHEA (safeguarding) through programming experience.
- TOT or any training in Cash and Vouchers Programming is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
SUCCESS FACTORS:
- A strong understanding of Market systems development and livelihoods programming
- Skills in preparation of detailed activity plans and work plans, conducting assessments and evaluations, reporting, and proposal writing.
- Knowledge and experience of working in pastoral areas of Afar region.

Position 7: Livestock Officer
Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Livestock Officer lead the implementation of livestock activities in Humanitarian Response to the Crisis in Afar (HURECA) project, which is under operation in three Woredas of Zone 2, Afar Regional State. She/he is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of livestock related interventions that able to protect the livelihood of Afar pastoral and agropastoral communities who affected by recurrent drought and conflict. The livestock Officer will also be responsible for timely identifying and documenting project outputs and outcomes and reporting as per the reporting schedule. Besides, She/he will ensure active participation in the Woreda level Livestock related coordination forums.
Job Requirements
- BSc degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Economics, animal sciences or livestock production.
- Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in managing programmes in food security, and livelihoods sector [livestock production].
- Proven experience in livelihood activities including income generating activities, food security, resilience and managing risks.
- Evidence of project cycle management experience, including design, planning, budgeting, monitoring & evaluation, and reporting.
- Experience in working with pastoral and agro pastoral communities, preferably in Afar region.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Knowing the local language of position applied is required (e.g., Applicant interested to works in Afar region should know Afari language)
