Position 1: Market Systems Development (MSD) Coordinator
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in private sector is strongly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, economics, business administration or other related field, or commensurate private sector or field experience is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in private sector or working with other agencies in program coordination, market systems facilitation, production, agribusiness and/or financial services.

Fluent in English, Amharic and local language for the location applied: Somali and/or Afar (capable in all require basic skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing).

Position 2: Project Manager
Knowledge and Experience
Experience in private sector is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, economics, business administration or other related field, or commensurate private sector or field experience is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in private sector or working with other agencies in program coordination, market systems facilitation, production, agribusiness and/or financial services.
Demonstrated success in programs related to market systems strengthening, financial inclusion, private sector development, marketing and value chain programming.
Prior experience working with pastoralist communities, in Ethiopia especially in the Somali region.
Demonstrated ability to function as a social entrepreneur and proven success with building, managing and leading a team of professionals and the ability to function as a team player among peers.
Proven ability for project and financial management.
Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills.
Ability to work comfortably, effectively and creatively in areas of variable security.
A dynamic, “outside-the-box” attitude is required, with proven ability to think and act creatively in challenging environments.
Effective English language verbal and written communication skills.

Position 3: Innovations and Investments Fund Manager
Job Requirement
Masters’ degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, or Bachelors’ degree
with significant additional experience.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in enterprise development; investment management; and working in partnership with private sector actors in on-farm, off-farm, wage and employment, nutrition, governance, and increasing commercialization and ensuring greater sustainability of partnerships.
Good understanding of market systems Development approach and facilitation including coaching, relationship building, communicating, open and willing to work on new initiatives.
Good understanding of the innovations and investment process is essential.
Proven skills in strategic planning, assessment, and business development, as well as a proven practical and theoretical understanding of the project cycle related to private sector investments.
Excellent communicator and able to engage private sector actors by socializing key interests and objectives of the program and be able to attract private sector investments.
Demonstrated ability to develop proposals for new projects and programs from conception to submission.
Demonstrated experience and ability to professionally and appropriately represent the organization and negotiate and defend Mercy Corps’ interests with a diverse range of international and local organizations, private sectors, and other groups.
Demonstrated understanding of complex developmental and transitional contexts, particularly in a resilience context, preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to multi-task and support and/or fill multiple positions at one time.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work both independently and cooperatively with team members.
Experience of working on USAID programs preferred.
Fluency in spoken and written English is required and knowledge of the local languages in Ethiopia.
Position 4: Nutrition Field Worker
Knowledge and Experience:
Diploma in a Nutrition/health-related field.
Over 3 years of experience with NGOs.
Willingness and ability to perform fieldwork and travel to remote areas.
Effective interaction with diverse ethnic groups.
Previous experience with community work, especially with Mercy Corps.
Initiative and independent work capability.
Organized, reliable, and good communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork capability.
Proficiency in Afarigna.

Willingness to travel frequently to villages and reside in rural areas.

Position 5: IYCF Officer
Knowledge and Experience
BSc in Public Health or Nursing, with a minimum of four years of experience in NGOs, including two years in a clinical setup.
Solid technical skills in managing acute malnutrition and providing technical support to health workers and HEWs.
Knowledge and experience in managing moderately malnourished children and PLWs (Pregnant and Lactating Women).
Proven skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Ability to lead mobile teams and foster team spirit.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong human relations skills.
Willingness to work under pressure and extended hours.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Afarigna languages.

Position 6: Health and Nutrition Specialist
Education and Experience
Education: BSc in Public Health or Nutrition, Nursing, or other health sciences.
Experience: Over four years of relevant experience in emergency health and nutrition responses, particularly in pastoralist and semi-pastoralist areas.
Skills: Strong analytical ability, report writing skills, and the ability to manage and work in a diverse team.
Communication: Fluency in Amharic and English is essential. Speaking Afarigna is a plus.
Position 7: Community Mobilizers
Knowledge and Experience:
Diploma in a health-related field, social sciences, or community development.
More than 3 years of experience working with NGOs, particularly in community mobilization and health promotion.
Proven ability to work effectively with diverse ethnic groups in remote areas.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate community members.
Proficiency in English and the local languages is mandatory.
Position 8: CMAM Officer
Knowledge and Experience
BSc in Nutrition, Public Health, or Nursing with over 3 years of practical experience in emergency nutrition, including more than 1 year of NGO experience as a CMAM Officer.
Experience with mobile nutrition services for treating severe acute malnutrition at outreach sites or mobile clinics.
Excellent spoken and written skills in the local language.
Ability and willingness to travel frequently to villages and reside in rural areas.
Flexibility and adaptability in difficult and frustrating working conditions, such as long-distance travel.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience working closely with Zonal and Woreda Health offices.
Ability to prepare program reports and maintain good human relations.
Proficiency in Afarigna language is a plus.
Position 9: Livestock Officer
BSc degree in veterinary sciences, animal health, animal sciences, or livestock production.
Minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in managing programs in the food security and livelihoods sector, particularly livestock production.
Proven experience in livelihood activities, including income-generating activities, food security, resilience, and risk management.
Evidence of project cycle management experience, including design, planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with pastoral and agro-pastoral communities, preferably in Somali and Oromia regions.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English, and speaking the local language is a plus.
Position 10: Agriculture Specialist
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (MSc/MA preferred) in Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Agribusiness, or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in private sector and/or NGOs focused on MSD (facilitation and providing technical support), agribusiness, and/or financial services.
Good understanding of the Markets4Poor approach and market development facilitation, including coaching, relationship building, communication, entrepreneurial/business understanding, and innovation.
Experience in supporting private sector-led business enterprises in pastoral/agro-pastoral settings, providing business development support, and working with industries (public and private), institutions, and stakeholders.
Knowledge of participatory analyses, action, and results processing.
Experience/exposure to the location/region applied for.
Knowledge of Sphere standards and other training in humanitarian response preferred.
Proficiency in English and the local languages is a plus.
Position 11: Agriculture Officer
Minimum of bachelor’s degree BSc degree in the areas: General Agriculture, plant science, Crop production, Rural Development, and other related subjects.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in private sector and/or NGOs working focused on MSD (facilitation and providing technical support), agribusiness and/or financial services.
Good understanding on the Markets4Poor approach and Markets development facilitation including coaching, relationship building, communicating, entrepreneurialism/business understanding and innovating.
Experiences in supporting privet sector lead business enterprises in pastoral/ agro-pastoral settings, providing business development supports, industries (public and private), institutions and stakeholders.
Knowledge of participatory analyses, action, and results processing.
Experience/exposures to the location/region he/she applied for.
Knowledge of Sphere standards and other training in humanitarian response preferred.

Position 12: Midwifery Nurse
Diploma or BSc in Midwifery with a minimum of four years of experience in an NGO environment, including two years in clinical settings.
Training and experience in safe motherhood practices, family planning, and IMNCI/ICCM.
Skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Experience in peer group training and counseling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong human relations skills.
Willingness to work under pressure and extend working hours.
Proficiency in English and Afarigna language.
Position 13: Health Officer
BSc in Public Health or Nursing, with a minimum of four years of experience in an NGO environment, including two years in a clinical setup.

Experience in peer group training and counseling.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and the local language.

Position 15: Senior Financial Inclusion Specialist
B.A degree in Business, Economics, Development Studies, Program Management, or related Social Science fields.
At least 5 years work experience in program management and coordination, preferably in financial inclusion, digital financial services (DFS), product & strategy development; Islamic finance, financial literacy programs, and community awareness campaigns.
Previous work experience in the financial sector and international development organization is an advantage.
Familiar with all aspects of the relevant market systems including key actors, micro-financial institutions (MFIs), banks,
Understanding of Markets Systems Development (MSD) approach.
Familiarity with Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA) methodology and practices is advantageous.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to Mercy Corps project sites and field locations, including traveling to insecure environments, is required.
Fluency in English and Amharic is required.
