Position 1: Senior Gender and Nutrition Specialist
Job Summery:
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the National Program Manager, the Program Senior Gender and Nutrition Specialist is responsible for the overall, planning, mainstreaming, implementation, technical support, monitoring, and reporting of Gender and Nutrition interventions of the program implemented by different stakeholders of the program at all levels of program implementation. S/he will be responsible to liaison program management unit with MOA-Nutrition office and Women and Social affairs Inclusive Implementation Executive and Monitoring and supporting that the activities carried out in the sector are in accordance with the scope of the program and the implementation manual. Duties and responsibilities:
- Closely work with MOA-Nutrition office and Women and Social affairs Inclusive Implementation Executive, other MOA relevant sectors & regional PMUs to ensure smooth planning and implementation of I FSRP supported interventions.
- Leading and guiding federal implementers, regional management Units and on planning, implementation, follow up and reports of activities related MOA-Nutrition office and Women and Social affairs Inclusive Implementation Executive.
- Facilitate & provide TOT on guidelines & manuals developed by the program.
- Assist training needs assessments in line departments to develop appropriate training programs for program implementation and strengthening the capacity of implementing agencies.
- Assist in Organizing necessary training to the relevant Implementing institution.
- Conduct Regular supervision of project’s sites, guide implementer on the activities and provide concrete suggestions and give site specific recommendations where necessary and the RPMU/Implementing Agencies for improvement.
- Preparing detailed annual work plan and budget, implementation schedule and progress reports for the project to ensure effective monitoring and timely project outputs, and regularly update it based on situation.
- Review, Compile/ consolidate annual work plan & budget, and reports prepared by Federal implementing institution & regional PMU.
- Assist the NPMU manager in the preparation of discussion papers and any other related documents.
- Perform other tasks related with the program as may be necessary
Job Requirement
Qualification: The appropriate candidate should have minimum of a Master’s Degree in Gender studies, Human Nutrition, Food science, Family science
Work Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience in related work
Position 2: – Farmers Led Irrigation and Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summery:
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Senior Irrigation and Infrastructure Engineer, the Farmers Led Irrigation and Infrastructure Engineer will assist the Senior Irrigation and Infrastructure Engineer in guiding the overall planning, implementation and monitoring of infrastructure subprojects. S/he will be responsible to liaise on program management unit with MoA Natural Resource Management Sector; and monitor and support that the activities carried out in the sector are in accordance with the scope of the program and the implementation manual.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Irrigation and Infrastructure Engineer in supervising the overall planning and implementation of infrastructure subprojects, including feasibility study and design, tender document preparation, construction supervision and contract administration;
- Closely work with MOA Natural Resources Management sector and Regional PMUs to ensure smooth planning and implementation of interventions;
- Devise mechanisms to ensure that design preparation and construction implementation of infrastructure subprojects is in accordance with agreed scope, time, cost and quality;
- Support strong campaigns for awareness creation and public sensitization to achieve attitudinal change on farmers led irrigation development (FLID) approach;
- Provide technical inputs relating mainly to the planning and implementation of farmers led irrigation development;
- Support the assessment of opportunities, and challenges to implement and scaling FLID approach;
- Ensure that FLID approach is being implemented according to the guidelines prepared for this purpose;
- Share information, lessons learned and best-practices on FLID approach amongst public and private sector actors, and smallholder farmers;
- Supervise and monitor the consultant and contractor work according to the contract agreement;
- Assist the development of systems and procedures for sustainable O&M of the rehabilitated and newly constructed small scale irrigation schemes, small bridges, and market centers;
- In collaboration with the relevant institutions, organize and conduct necessary training to the relevant Regional Engineers on feasibility study and design, construction supervision, construction project management, and construction contract administration;
- Assist regions in the review of study, design, construction supervision and construction contract administration of irrigation and other infrastructure subprojects;
- Regularly undertake visits of FLID subproject’s sites, oversee the works and guide the contractors on the activities and works, and provide concrete suggestions and give site specific recommendations where necessary to contractors;
- Review, Compile/ consolidate annual work plan & budget, and reports prepared by Federal implementing institution & regional PMU, including implementation schedule and progress reports for the project; and
- Prepare a detailed quarterly progress report that should cover all aspects of the rural infrastructure subprojects;
- Perform other tasks related with the program as may be necessary.
Job Requirement
Qualification: MSc in Irrigation/Agricultural/Water Resources/Civil/Rural Engineering or related fields.
Work Experience: Minimum of 8 years’ experience in related work.
