OVID Construction PLC would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following positions.

 Position 1: Office Engineering Head

Job Description

  • Review design & contract documents to understand the project and use it in the project’s execution
  • manage the flow of documents and correspondence between internal and external stakeholders,
  • Support with the preparation and maintenance of construction plan and schedules
  • Examine and review or assess construction plans and prepare quantity requirements
  • Prepare working (shop drawings) and get approval to proceed
  • Follow up on any change order until its approval
  • Prepare & submit claims, based on data gathered when claim issues have occurred & observed, in time
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs
  • Oversee and review daily field construction reports and recommend timely corrective actions
  • Evaluate and analyze the productivity of key resources with respect to unit cost of respective activities
  • Prepare periodic (monthly, weekly, daily …) project’s execution & status reports
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including tracking milestones and deadlines
  • Monitor and track project costs, including change orders, and prepare project financial reports
  • Provide technical support to project team members as needed
  • Liaise and work cooperatively with site managers, clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders so that the project can be carried out efficiently and effectively
  • Build and maintain healthy and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare Interim Payment Certificates & get it approved by the Consultant/ Client
  • Handle the payments certification of suppliers and subcontractors hired at the project site and/or head office
  • Analyze methodologies being implemented in the project against its cost & time effect
  • Appraise employees in the Office engineering section

Education

BSc in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field

8 or more years’ experience in building construction project as office engineer & head of the section

 Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • strong analytical, critical thinking skills,
  • adequate knowledge of building construction,
  • ability to plan, organize, and strategize,
  • good networking abilities,
  • detail-oriented mind,
  • great verbal and written communication skills,
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to estimate project’s cost

Position 2: Construction Engineer

Job Description

  • Collaborates with project manager, designer, and other professionals to develop project plans
  • Manage resources effectively.
  • Oversees the provision of materials, equipment, and labor, ensuring that they align with project specifications and budget constraints
  • Oversees the construction process.
  • Supervises construction crews, monitors progress, and ensure that work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Resolves any issues or conflicts that arise, conduct regular inspections, and implement quality control measures
  • Tracks expense, analyzes cost variations, and implement cost-saving measures when possible.
  • Creates and manages cascaded project schedules, identifying critical paths and milestones to ensure timely completion.
  • Assesses potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Identifies safety hazards, implement safety protocols, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Anticipate and address any technical or logistical challenges that may arise during construction
  • Facilitates effective communication, provides updates on project progress, and resolve any conflicts or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Ensures that all parties involved are well-informed and aligned with project goals
  • Appraise employees for their training need & reward

Education

BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology or related field of study

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in building construction projects

Position 3: Project Manager

Job Description

  • Studies the project’s contract documents and comprehend the project’s work scope
  • Develop project execution proposal (strategies), work plan and schedule regularly including budget & all deliverables
  • Implements the plans and agreed-upon approach for the project
  • Coordinate, follow up and direct execution of the project resources and motivate employees to attain maximum possible output
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Ensure use of proper construction methodologies to improve productivity, reduce cost and keep quality to the requirements
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Identify & anticipate potential risks & problems in a timely manner & advise the head office in the implementation of mitigation measures & solutions
  • Ensure the proper deployment of resources for effective & efficient utilization
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure all records of the projects that may be used by the headquarters, the consultant, government offices & auditors, when the need arises, are maintained;
  • Ensure safety & security is adhered in the project and report any accident happened to the project director immediately & act on insurance claims on time;
  • implement and manage change when necessary to meet project output
  • Control cost of the project to ensure maximum profit with optimum/reasonable expense
  • Generate monthly payment certificate and follow up until it’s get collected
  • Train employees to exercise best industry practice

Education

BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology or related field of stud

Minimum of 10 years experience in building construction projects

Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • Effective Communication

  • Analytical and leadership skills to solve technical engineering challenges
  • Stakeholders’ management
  • Familiarity with engineering management soft wares

Position 4: Project Director

Job Description

  • Responsible for the successful conclusion of the project by providing leadership, strategically managing risk, monitoring finances and making sure that each of the major phase of the project starts and ends on schedule
  • Identify & implement regulations, policies, processes, methodologies & systems for effective project management
  • Plan the projects’ work with the involvement of the Project managers
  • Managing shared resources and finances to make sure each project is progressing on time and within budget
  • Coordinates project managers to make sure the construction work is being done properly
  • Develop a timeline that captures milestones for projects
  • Create budget and monitor finances to ensure the work is done with in the budget
  • Recommend changes to keep projects on track
  • Make alternative plans if initial project planning is inadequate
  • Keep the internal and external stakeholders updated on progress and any deviations from the plans as well as project risks
  • Ensure training & capacity building of construction projects employees are aligned with the project’s objectives

Education

  • BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology or related field of study
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in construction sector of which 10 years in building construction

Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • Familiarity with engineering management software
  • BSc degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology or related field of study
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in construction sector of which 10 years in building construction
  • Strong leadership skills
  • persistence and determination
  • Analyze and make sound recommendations on complex management and administrative issues.
  • Present proposals and recommendations clearly, logically, and persuasively in public meetings.
  • Establish, maintain and foster positive and effective working relationships with stakeholders
