Pastoralist Concern PC is a pastoralist-initiated, -inspired and -led CSO working toward sustainable development in pastoralist areas of Ethiopia since 1995, their vision is “to see improved and sustainable livelihood of the pastoralist communities of Ethiopia and further realize strong co-operations with neighboring countries’ pastoralist communities.” PC works within our target area in the Somali region, engaging in both multi-sector development programming and emergency responses across diverse sectors that include health and nutrition, WASH, environmental resilience, education, protection and women’s empowerment.

Pastoralist Concern (PC) would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following position.

Position 1: Wash Officer

Required Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Relevant degree (Civil Engineer, Water Engineer or equivalent acquired through experience)
  • Previous experience in implementation of WASH projects.
  • Experience in working with local communities at field level in development projects.
  • Experience in Public Health and community participation and positive behavior change.
  • Experience in Construction related project management.
  • Excellent command of the most common methodologies to identify, assess and monitor WASH activities, with proven record of achievements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis skills (qualitative and qualitative)
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Good understanding of complex emergencies and crisis contexts
  • Flexible and creative
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills
  • Goal oriented with ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to work and live in challenging conditions.
  • Excellent computer Skills appreciated.

Position 2: Health & Nutrition Officer

Job Requirements

BSc degree or MSC in Health and Nutrition, or another related field accompanied with six years similar experience for BSc and four years for MSC.

  • Registered nurse (preferred)
  • Experience with project planning and grant management (multiple donors)
  • Previous experience with managing nutrition programming (TSFP, OTP) is strongly recommended.
  • Program management experience and/or community development; previous experience in area management.
  • Skilled in, and committed to, community participation/interaction, field visits and presence in program areas.
  • Practical experience in managing grassroots community level health and nutrition activities.
  • Proven commitment to humanitarian and accountability principals and knowledgeable of quality assurance systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis skills (qualitative and qualitative)
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Good understanding of complex emergencies and crisis contexts
  • Flexible and creative
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills

Position 3: Administration officer

Requirements and Qualification:

  • BA Degree in management, HRM, Business administration and related disciplines accompanied with minimum six -year in similar role in humanitarian and development sectors or MA Degree in the same discipline accompanied with minimum four years’ experience in a similar role in humanitarian and development sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Good listening skills, with high levels of attention to detail
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office platforms
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize own workload
  • Understanding of local language and culture is mandatory
  • Fluency in English and Afe Somali is Mandatory.

Position 4: Procurement officer

Job Requirements

BA/MA Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any other appropriate academic qualification for the desired role with 5 years for BA and 3 years for MA of work experiences in similar role in humanitarian and development sectors.

Position 5: Store keeper

Qualification and Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in procurement, supplies management, asset management and related disciplines accompanied by 3+ years of relevant experience as store keeper for BA and +5 years for Diploma, preferred in humanitarian and development sectors.

verbal and written communication skills in English, Amharic and Af Somali is Mandatory.

Good computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)

Position 6: Finance Officer

Qualification:

BA/MA Degree in accounting, finance management and related disciplines and working in similar/relevant position for 5 years for BA and 3 years for MA.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and advanced financial software’s.

 Understanding of local language and culture is mandatory.

Position 7: MEAL Officer

Required Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Policy, Statistics, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Demography, Development Studies, social work or related social science fields accompanied with Minimum six years relevant experiences or Master’s degree with Minimum four years relevant experience with related discipline.

Demonstrated experience in data processing and management of large-scale surveys.

Demonstrated experience of statistical packages and/ or data analysis software and advanced computer skills.

Strong experience in conducting research studies including the entire evaluation cycle, from design and formulation to implementation, analysis and presentation of results and recommendations.

Must be results-focused and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a multi-cultural team environment.

Strong analytical skills.

Work collaboratively, building mutual trust and respect, with external organizations and partners to achieve our strategic aims and objectives; being accountable for the work you do together.

Adapt to new directions or opportunities arising within the organization and in your work area; being flexible in your role, constantly using the feedback to learn more and evolve further.

Lead behavioral and cultural change through embracing a supportive, collaborative and highly inclusive environment where everybody feels supported, respected and engaged.

Fluency/proficiency in English:  Af Somali and or Afan Oromo languages is mandatory.

Understanding of local language and culture is mandatory.

Position 8: Agronomist Expert

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or related field with 5 years relevant experience and MSC in the same discipline with 3  years experiences.

Experienced in humanitarian and developmental works.

Additional certifications in Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification are preferred.

Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.

Sales and presentation skills are also a major plus.

Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stop for extended periods.

Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office and diagnostic scientific software.

Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of local language and culture is mandatory

Fluency in English and Afe Somali is Mandatory.

Position 9: Cashier Accountant

Requirements and Qualifications:

BA Degree in accounting, finance management and related disciplines and working in similar/relevant position for 3 years.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and advanced financial software’s.

Understanding of local language and culture is mandatory
