Position 1: – Knowledge Management and Communication Officer
JOB SUMMERY
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of Output 4.2 and 4.4 and the knowledge and learning-related elements throughout all components and levels of project implementation.
- Liaise globally with the GEF global Food Systems Land Use and Restoration (FOLUR) program for capturing and sharing lessons learned.
- Organize ongoing community learning exchanges, supported by the Finance & Admin Officers in the regional Agroforestry Coordination and Support Centres.
- Organize annual Food and Land Use Systems Dialogue events, supported by the Admin Officer in the PMU.
- Support the holders of Technical Contract C to organize and facilitate the national conference on greening agricultural value chains, with the Admin Officer in the PMU.
- Collaborate with universities to identify topics for project impact studies, such as coffee productivity increases and forest restoration.
- Facilitate study agreements for 10 Masters/PhD students carrying out impact studies.
- Provide project linkages and co-supervision to the students and academics involved in the impact studies.
- Write up annual lessons learned reports in collaboration with the M&E Officer and feed these to the Project Steering Committee through the Project Manager.
- Utilize monitoring reports produced on climate risk management to draw out trends and lessons as part of the Climate Risk Management Framework.
- Develop overall analytical reports at the project mid-point and end to capture lessons learned through the project on managing climate risk to ensure durable project outcomes.
- Consolidate external research products relevant to the FOLUR project components;
- Conducts and/or commissions research projects that contribute to project learning and scale up.
- Coordinate intra and inter-organizational lessons learning and experiences sharing events based on time intervals agreed/set by the FOLUR management.
- Communicate knowledge products to FOLUR stakeholders using various communication platforms including, but not limited to: web platforms, emails and printed materials.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree and above academic qualification from a reputable university in fields of: development communication, economics, management, development studies, program planning and management, monitoring and evaluation, or related disciplines.
- Above 5 years of professional experience in knowledge management, monitoring and evaluation, program planning and management, and related fields.
- Acceptable level of competence in data collection and analysis using standard computer software applications.
- Experience working with international organizations or development projects is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work in a multicultural environment and with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
- Expertise in virtual data management platforms is a plus.
Location: Addis Ababa, and travel to project implementation region and woreda as required
