Safaricom Telecommunication Ethiopia would like to invites competent and qualified candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: – M-PESA Training and Customer Education Specialist

Job Requirements

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

Qualification: Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business management, business administration communication, journalism, writing, video production or related field.

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in digitized training content development, training and learning programs formulation, execution and management.

Proven desktop publishing skills and use of relevant software.

Proven animation and gamification videos production and editing skills.

Sound working experience with Mobile Money/Mobile Banking products and services.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

Experience working within a fast-paced and geographically diverse organization.

Organized, Creative and self-motivated with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Able to think strategically in terms of culture, organizational behavior, business processes, and knowledge management tools.

Strong understanding of technology behind Mobile Money and financial services solutions

Good appreciation of Business Unit needs both at the operational and strategic level.

Be comfortable with taking initiative, interacting with technical and non-technical personnel.

Be able to read through and understand previous versions of documentation and perform research to ensure clarity and accuracy of current documentation.

Ability to present technical information in a non-technical way.

Ability to speak different local languages clearly for live presentation and video scripting.

Ability to travel frequently away from Addis Ababa with short notice.

Ability to maintain very high standards of integrity as per company policies.

Position 2: – Enterprise Service Support Engineer

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification: Degree in Telecoms, Engineering, IT, Physics or Math or any other relevant qualification.

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ Experience in a busy ISP/Telco in managing large IP & Transport networks.

Must have Network Connectivity Certifications on professional level. i.e. CCIP, CCNP, CCVP, CCSP HCNP, HCIP, CWNP and above

Strong understanding of emerging digital technologies: SDWAN, IoT, Managed Security Services (Cisco ASA/Fortinet/Cyberoam/SOPHOS), AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware, IoT, Telematics, RPA. Certifications and practical hands-on experience on the same is an added advantage

Basic knowledge in Python, Java, Kubernetes. Certification on the same is an added advantage

CISA, CISM, CEH certifications are an added advantage

Strong knowledge of microwave and fiber transmission and access technologies i.e., TDM, SDH plus experience with vendors like Rad

Ability to manage/troubleshoot a large Service provider Transmission& IP network

Conversant with IPv4, IPv6 Addressing Schemes, Variable Length Subnet Masking (VLSM), VLANs, IP QOS, Triple play services

Knowledge in ISP services; DNS, SMTP, POP3, RADIUS/PPPoE, Web Hosting

Knowledge of data networking and networking protocols in reference to the WAN and LAN environments

General knowledge in all layers of data communications, customer applications and associated technologies

Knowledge and experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, IOS-XE and Huawei OS

Candidate should demonstrate deep and wide knowledge ITIL, Agile, SCRUM, DevNet frameworks and relevant certifications

Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills, including research of customer issues, issue re-creation, and log file analysis and experience in offering technical support to enterprise customers

Strong work ethic

Capability to influence cross-functional teams and to build trust with team, clients, and internal departments; Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities

Ability to understand and communicate highly complex technical issues

Position 3: – Financial Solutions Technology Specialist

Job Requirements

Required Qualification: BA / BSC in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field as a minimum

Work Experience: At least 2(two) – year experience in coding in a non-university setting.

At least 1 year experience of API management experience e.g., Apigee, MuleSoft etc.

Strong understanding of both JSON, SOAP and development on swagger UI using open API’s

Experience in securing APIs using Oauth, SAML etc.

Strong knowledge in API modelling languages and annotations e.g., in Swagger

Experience in java, java EE, spring, spring MVC, spring cloud, python, Bash

Experience working with relational and non-relational databases i.e., Oracle, MySQL, mongo DB, Cassandra

Hands-on experience in designing and developing API’s using REST and SOAP

Experience developing solutions using agile, DevOPs, testing and CI/CD automation tools e.g., Jenkins, SonarQube, Git lab

Experience in CMS is an added advantage e.g., Drupal

Strong understanding of end-to-end API and microservices architecture

Experience in automation tools e.g., Rundeck, ansible etc.

Good presentation skills

Position 4: – Senior Officer – Materials & Cost Control

Job Requirements

Qualification: University Degree in Building Economics (Quantity Surveying)/Construction Management/Civil Engineering or other equal and equivalent qualification

Work Experience: 3(three) years post-graduation experience with minimum 2 years’ experience in Telecommunications industry.

Registration with relevant Professional Bodies an added advantage

Proficiency in Microsoft application programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint et al

Good data analytics, visualization & reporting skills

Project Management (Agile) Certification

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
