Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training and development activities, including scheduling training sessions and maintaining training records.

Position 2: Case Worker

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The Case Workers will be responsible for activities related to case management. She/he will be responsible for effective implementation and proper documentation of all child protection cases. The case worker will ensure that project activities on case management are in line with Save the Children’s key child protection principles including best interests of the child, confidentiality, do no harm and child participation, draw on relevant best practices and lessons learned, enable children to attain their rights and are compliant with donor regulations. She/He will provide technical oversight to government partners, stakeholder and case management team.

The case workers works in close collaboration with the project officer, project coordinator and Programme Manager to ensure complete support to the team, and ensure quality and effective implementation of the project activities at community level, organize and facilitate capacity building training workshops for partners, stakeholders and SC staff; participate on various assessments including stakeholder mapping, baseline and end line assessment; monitor government partners and SC implemented activities and discuss on success and challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA degree in sociology, social work, social sciences or other relevant fields
  • Previous 2 years of experience working with vulnerable children and adolescents in a corporate or NGO environment, preferably in protection or community based child protection field;

Role Purpose:

The content development intern will focus on creating engaging and impactful content for social media platforms, as well as providing graphics design and multimedia support

Position 4: TFP Officer- Bale

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Makes sure that the health staff have adequate training on the management of acute malnutrition per national nutrition treatment guide line, 2019
  • Facilitates the trainings under the project.
  • Strengthen the Coordination at woreda level
  • Makes sure that TF program is implemented according to the National protocol i.e. application of the admission and discharge criteria, closely monitors and strictly follows anthropometry measurement
  • Ensures the availability of job aids, reporting formats, therapeutic products and drugs for program implementation
  • Supports and liaise with the health centres staffs and provide on the job training and capacity building where required.
  • Creates and maintain relationship with local health and other authorities and  link CMAM program with the existing health structure smoothly,
  • Works and liaise with  local health workers to integrate the CMAM program from the start,
  • Coordinates the link of acute malnutrition cases with CBN/CHD/TSFP/PSNP and facilitates regular registration of beneficiaries and submits on monthly bases
  • Provides a daily/weekly/and monthly over view of drug items, SFP materials and wet ration stocks supplied to beneficiaries,
  • Makes sure that health professionals from the health facilities to participate on the daily routine work for sustainability and smooth phase out strategy,
  • Provides technical support and training where required to all team members, outreach team including health extension workers and community volunteers,
  • Organizes monthly report of SC/OTP/SFP/Community mobilization and report on time to the Project Manager, Nutrition and provides updates when needed.
  • Manages the stock levels of therapeutic products, drugs and all other materials and alert the logistics in a timely manner as more materials are required.
  • Coaches and supervises the IYCF-Officer, OTP, SC program officers and government staff.

Position 5: TFP Officer replacement – Bale GAC-IHA Project

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Adherence to medical and nutritional treatment protocols and procedures for children in primary health care facilities.
  • Strengthen the coordination at woreda level.
  • Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the health workers and health extension workers including admission, discharge and transfer to and from the SFP.

Position 6: MEAL Coordinator -Replacement

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Head of the Field Office, the MEAL Coordinator will support all Bale Field Office Awards MEAL-related activities with quality and accountability. Detail areas of role and responsibilities would be MEAL Coordinator for Bale Field Office as a general, which will be implemented in Save the Children Bale Field Office.  He/She will be responsible to ensure that the delivery of the programs is in line with the SC MEAL approach/standards, Donor requirements, SC MEAL Framework, and specific programmatic approaches. He/She will ensure & strengthen that a strong MEAL system is in place so that the implementation of the programs is of high quality to be accountable to beneficiaries, partners, and donors. He /She will play people development roles (two MEAL Officers)

Job Qualifications:

Essential

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in MEAL and preferably in the INGO environment, including significant field operations experience running both development and emergency programs.
  • BA Degree or equivalent in MEAL, statistics, Development Studies, or other related fields.
  • Field-level experience in MEAL for INGOs in international development and emergency programs
  • Knowledge of key institutional donors and their compliance requirements in respect of the MEAL system
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching.

Project Overview:

The overall goal of Leadership and Economic Empowerment Project (LEEP) is to create opportunities for young women  in business in semi-urban and urban areas to empower themselves to engage meaningfully in their development, improve their technical and transferable skills and have equal access to, and use of capital, resources and services to achieve economic self-sufficiency and well-being. The young women will receive the resources needed to scale their businesses, support their families and become agents of change, role models and leaders in their communities.

Educational background:

Position 8: Food Security and Livelihood Officer (FSL) -Re advert

ROLE PURPOSE:

FSL Officer is responsible for the overall activities’ planning, execution, and reporting. He/she is directly assigned to, such as voucher-based animal treatment service delivery system along with supplementary livestock feed  as a strategy to improve utilization of the feed and create veterinary service access to vulnerable drought-affected households in the project target area. Position 10: Deputy Chief of Party, Disaster Risk Management – Proposal recruitment

Summary

Save the Children is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Disaster Risk Management activity in Ethiopia. The program will enable timely anticipatory and early action to preempt crises and reduce the impact of shocks in Ethiopia by strengthening disaster risk management (DRM) planning and preparedness, improving DRM coordination, and enhancing resource mobilization and management. The activity will also strengthen gender in emergencies (GiE) capacity, increase private sector engagement in DRM, and expand local organizations’ capacity to engage in DRM. The proposed program will be an integrated, multi-sectoral development program and will align with other USAID-funded programs in country.

The DCoP will establish and manage systems to ensure a coherent and high-impact approach across all program activities and themes. They will ensure that activities are appropriately layered, sequenced and integrated at all stages of the intervention, and will develop tools and procedures to guide the implementation of DRM planning and programming, monitoring outputs and outcomes and ensuring course corrections as required. In addition, the DCoP will work closely with the technical and operations team to ensure strong complementarity between private sector entities and complementary activities.  

Hiring is contingent upon successful award of the project and USAID approval of the proposed candidate.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (development studies, international relations, risk management, economics, climate change, business administration, etc.) combined with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing technical international development programs.
  • Specific technical expertise in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and/or resilience programming.
  • Demonstrated ability overseeing operations and financial oversight for a program of a similar size and scope, preferably in East Africa.
  • Strong knowledge of USAID policies and regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently. 
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills in English.
