Save the Children would like to invites competent and interested candidates for the following Positions.

Position 1: IYCF -E Officer

ROLE PURPOSE:

The position holder is responsible for implementing the four components of IYCF in the woreda, working closely with the community, religious leaders, and Health Development Army for effective implementation and linkage with the community and facility. They will also provide technical support for IYCF implementation and assist CMAM and TSFP officers in building a strong IYCF implementation package.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BSC/Diploma in Nursing or Public Health (Senior Clinical/Public Nurse or above).
  • Minimum two years working experience for Degree and four years’ experience for Diploma holders out of which two-year experience directly related to emergency health & nutrition related fields Knowledge, training, and experience in IYCF  and community mobilization/BCC
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers, and development of training materials.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Local language.
  • Strong computer (Microsoft skills), all, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the context is preferred.
  • Female candidates are preferred.

Position 2: Health and Nutrition Project Coordinator

MINIMUM QUALFICATION, EXPEREINCE, COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATION

  • Most preferred is Master’s Degree in Public health, Nutrition Humanitarian Response, / BSc degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing or related fields
  • For Master’s Degree 5 years or for BSC/BA degree 7 years of work experience in Humanitarian Preparedness and Response and Or Developmental in a number of fragile or complex contexts in an NGO environment of which a minimum of 4 years managing community based health projects and had been experience in refuges
  • Trainings on Public Health Emergency ,MHPSS, BIMOC ,Infection prevention , ECD and Referral System
  • Solid understanding of the Ethiopian health policy and strategies, as well as the health sector transformation plan and the health extension platform
  • Good understanding of Humanitarian minimum standards (SPHERE)
  • Child rights programming and Rights based approach to development
  • Experience working with the regional and local level stakeholders
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in another partners  with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets
  • Experience of managing and shaping programmes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness, and of strengthening implementation of financial control processes
  • Practical experience on Project/programme development and management;
  • Solid budgeting skills and knowledge of key donor regulations
  • knowledge of local language is required

Position 3: Mobile Health Midwife

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma/ Bachelor in Midwifery Minimum four years of working experience with NGOs out of which two years in Mobile Health Midwife Settings. 
  • Knowledge, training, and experience in the updated ANC/PNC/ICCM/IMNCI/New-born care/ counselling
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated skills in peer group training, Training of Trainers, and development of training materials.
  • Strong computer (Microsoft skills), and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Local language (Mandatory).
  • Good human relations skills.

Position 4: Child Protection Officer

MINIMUM QUALFICATION, EXPEREINCE, COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor Degree in an area of Sociology, psychology , law or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a corporate or NGO environment, with experience in community based child protection project coordination experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of community based child protection mechanisms, national protection systems, and technical knowledge on child protection monitoring and evaluation
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets
  • Experience of successfully implementing changes to improve and monitor quality standards and impact achieved
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner
  • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  • Commitment to Save the Children values
  • Good experience in planning, coordinating and implementing work activities
  • Good knowledge and experience in Project Cycle Management
  • Very good skill in report writing
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation;
  • Child rights programming and Rights based approach to development;

  • Capacity building and civil society development.
  • Facilitation and communication skills, etc.
  • Willingness to work and travel in often difficult environments
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, required
  • Knowledge of the local language (Kembatigna) is an asset.

Position 6: WASH Officer

JOB SUMMARY

 The WASH Officer’s main tasks will be providing professional technical, operational and administrative assistance thought-out the WASH programming process, through the application of theoretical and practical skills in the assessment, analysis, the designing, implementation and coordination of emergency WASH interventions, and the training of local staff and stakeholders in WASH related topics.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essentials

  • BSc. Degree in Water Engineering, Hydraulic, Water Resources, Water Supply and sanitation Civil engineering and other related fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven and progressive work experience, preferably in NGOs.
  • Proficient in computer skills (MS word, Excel, Power Point, Auto Cad & Water Cad)
  • Fluency in English and Afan Oromo language both spoken and written.

Skills and Abilities;

  • Familiarity with the culture.
  • Ability to work in stressful conditions, and limited movements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly results oriented work culture.
  • Knowledge, skill and experience in participatory methods for promoting ownership.
