The St. Luke Catholic Hospital in Wolisso, Ethiopia, has been providing medical care and support to the population in the South West Shoa zone since 2001 with the help and support of CUAMM – Doctors with Africa. The hospital offers general medicinal services such as ophthalmology, orthopaedics, paediatrics, neonatology, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology.
Educates around 30 nurses and midwives every year. They are employed by the hospital or local health centres to allow for continued growth of the health care sector and therefore more coverage for the local population. The hospital relies on donations to keep running as 67% of the patients they treat. These patients cannot afford to pay the medical fees for their treatments. They rely on the hospital to cover those costs.
Position: X Ray Technologist / Technician
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Radiography / X Ray Technology from a recognized institution.
- Valid professional license issued by the Ethiopian Ministry of Health or Regional Health Bureau.
- Strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.
- Previous experience in hospital settings is an advantage, but fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate X ray and imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Produce high quality diagnostic images for patient care.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures. Maintain equipment and follow hospital protocols
