Position 1: – Chief Quality Assurance Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for planning, designing standards, conducting research related to tourism services, publishing tourism service indexes, developing web-based tools for tourism services, developing award systems for best practices in tourism services, and monitoring compliance with standards. Assist in developing policies, procedures, and manuals for quality standards in the sector. Build the capacity of establishments and stakeholders based on the gaps identified.

Education/Training

A minimum MA degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Quality Management, Quality Audit,  Tourism Management, Tourism Development, or a related field of study.

Work Experience:

At least ten years of experience in quality management, grading and classification, Assessment and regulation, Quality audit and assurance, and quality management of tourism services in senior management positions such as general manager of a hotel and similar service-providing establishments.

Position 2: – Chief Institutional Transformation Officer

JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Institutional Officer is responsible for supporting the policymakers in planning, executing, and controlling institutional transformation initiatives. He/She is responsible for assessing opportunities for transformation and facilitating institutional insights on the coherence of the various initiatives. He/she is responsible for facilitating knowledge sharing and dissemination, both internally in the institution and externally and guiding the institutional transformation processes at both institutional and team levels.

MA degree in Business Administration, Organizational Change, Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behaviors’, Communications, or similar disciplines with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the tourism and hospitality sector,  or

Position 3: Senior Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the development of software that supports key interventions of the Ministry in supporting enterprises engaged in the tourism sector, developing software solutions to support the functions of the Ministry, integrating software systems by applying the state of the art technologies, assisting in enhancing digital literacy, assist in building the tourism sector labor market information system and other relevant activities.

Education/Training and Experience

MSc in software engineering, Computer Science

Work Experience:

At least ten years of experience as a software engineer, preferably in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Experience coding, testing, and documenting Drupal themes, including all front-end functionality and templates and modules using contributed modules and developing custom modules as needed.

Experience working in an agile environment

Experience building complex web systems that have been successfully delivered

Experience with mission-critical, 24×7 systems

Experience implementing and consuming large-scale web services

Experience developing software utilizing workflow or ESB software

Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations

Technical and Other Skills and Values

Fluent with functional, imperative, and object-­oriented languages; knowledge of Java, Scala, Clojure, or JavaScript would be advantageous

Either strong OOP or Functional Programing and modeling skills

Fluent in JavaScript and PHP

Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through the actual launch of the project

Position 4: Project Officer

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Education/Training

MSc in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture and related fields.

Work Experience:

At least 10 years of proven working experience as an Architect/Engineer, preferably in tourism destination development projects, and experience in the design of civil structures, including infrastructure services such as water supply, sanitation, and solid waste management.

Experience in the design and management of historical/archaeological sites. The engineer should be conversant with National/ International codes and best practices in the design and management of historical sites.

Technical and Other Skills and Values

Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards

Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and structures.

Excellent drawing skills and familiarity with design software (Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, 3d Studio VIZ or similar)

Strong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions

Strong portfolio to proven artistic skills, visual awareness and an eye for detail

Strong communication, interpersonal skills and Organizational skills

Project management and supervision skills

A verified engineering license

Understanding of Engineering design software such as Civil 3D AutoCAD etc.

Position 5: Digital Marketing and Communication Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for managing digital marketing schemes, conducting research on digital marketing trends, conducting market research, developing and maintaining the Ministry’s digital platforms, ensuring that a solid online presence on the corporate website and social media channels by posting engaging contents, and develop and implement new software and applications that will aid digital marketing initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Education/Training

Master’s degree in IT or Marketing, digital marketing, communication, international relations, language and literature

Work Experience:

At least eight years of experience in a senior role related to digital media/digital marketing, preferably in the tourism and hospitality sector.

Proficiency in English and preferably in other foreign languages as well.

He/She is responsible for creating a framework for developing concepts or creative ideas for craft objects, designing functional or decorative objects, determining specifications for materials, dimensions, and finishes. In doing so, he/she identifies young people and MSMEs engaged in the tourism sector, designs training programs, designs project proposals, and develops standards and support systems.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Policy Analyst is responsible for developing and updating policies and strategies, designing implementation frameworks for strategies and establishing monitoring systems, and formulating projects that support sustainable sector growth. He/She is responsible for supporting the development of legal frameworks and facilitating and supporting project design, resource mobilization, and project implementation endeavors. He/she supports the development of strategies for the competitiveness of tourism services, community engagements, and facilitation of industry conferences, workshops, and seminars.

Qualifications, Skill  & Experience

     Education/Training

PhD in Policy Studies, Economics, Public Policy, Economic Development, Business Administration, Tourism Management, and related fields of study.

 Work Experience:

At least ten years of experience in policy design and implementation, strategic planning, project management and supervision, strategic planning, strategic surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation, preferably in the tourism and hospitality sector.

A strong Experience in policy formulation and implementation, project design and implementation

JOB SUMMARY

The Delivery Unit Coordinator, reporting to the Minster of Tourism, is responsible for the planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring of the overall tasks of the delivery unit, which includes facilitating interfaces with other departments and strengthening relations with stakeholders in the sector, creating synergy among team members, conducting research based on sector problems, designing and implementing of resource mobilization schemes and communicating of research findings and support tourism mapping projects. He/She is responsible for developing strategies to promote tourism startups and facilitate the growth of existing enterprises, building strong working relationships with research institutions, and designing and implementing public-private partnership schemes to develop cultural, historical, and natural resources sustainably jointly.

Education/Training

MA in Economic Development, Economics, Management, Tourism Management, Tourism Development, Project Management, Business Management, and related fields of social sciences.

Experience

At least 12 Years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, having leadership experience and have worked on tourism policy design and implementation, strategic planning, institutional reform, research, project management and supervision, tourism marketing, destination development, tourist services competence, and classification.
