The Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Regional Commissions hold the majority of these positions. DESA is a crucial link between national action and global economic, social, and environmental policies. Its work is influenced by the global, integrated, and transformative 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which the United Nations General Assembly adopted on September 25, 2015, along with 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 associated targets. The United Nations’ regional outposts in each region are the Regional Commissions. They are also an essential component of the institutional landscape in their region. Most of the time, incumbents report to a Senior Social Affairs Officer or the Head of a Branch or Section. Associate Social Affairs Officer is the most common title, but Associate Population Affairs Officer is also a possibility.

Before the application deadline, interested candidates can submit an online application via the UN (United Nations Ethiopia) career page. Please read the entire article for additional details.
