Position 1: Finance Assistant
Role overview
This role will pro-actively provide financial support to the VSO Ethiopia Programme in managing/controlling financial resources and to provide financial assistance services to the office
Type of role: Business
Location: Ethiopia
Contract type: Fixed Term
Full Time: 35 hours per week

Job Requirements
Ideal Applicant Summary
Competencies and Behaviour
Degree in Accounting, Finance and related field of study
At least 2 years’ experience of financial planning, book keeping practice and principle, knowledge of internal controls, general ledger, cash management and reconciliations and taxation. Experience of cash management and budget monitoring and analysis. Experience of rules and regulations for non-profit organizations.
Experience working with international Non-Government Organisations (INGOs)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel particularly. Use of accounting software, SUN Accounts system preferred
Good written and verbal communication skills – able to listen, present, discuss, report, psut views forward, negotiate with confidence. Sensitivity to cultural and language differences, able to interact with people at all levels of the organisation. Able to work with others in a consultative way, ability to withstand and resolve conflict, negotiating professional solutions. Commitment to VSO’s work and values
Professional judgement and discernment. Capacity for inquiry, research, logical and analytical thinking, powers of reasoning and critical analysis. Experience of decision modelling
Able to prioritise within restricted resources to tight deadlines. Able to anticipate and adapt to change. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Self-motivated to set initiatives and self-learn.

Position 2: Project Finance and Grant Coordinator (IPDHE)
Role overview
Provide grant financial coordination and for IPDHE project and other VSO Ethiopia projects by donor financial reporting, financial reconciliations, budget analysis, income accounting ad donor compliance reporting, ensuring compliance to VSO policies, quality assurance standards, donor requirements, and local legislations.

Competencies and Behaviour
Fully Qualified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (ACCA) license.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Professional experience in grant finance with good knowledge and skills in technical accounting and financial management of restricted donor funding, reporting, procurement procedure, grant management, grant equipment and donor rules and regulations for non-profit organisations.
- Experience of coordinating financial grant size of (GBP250-500K per annum) and donor requirements preferably for ADA and or other donors FCDO, UN, USAID, EU.
- Skills in building and managing relationships with stakeholder centred approach, ,
- Partner financial capacity building skills and experience.
Generic Skills:
- Good engagement and collaboration with ability to work in multi-cultural project team in a network way of working in a global organisation.
- Good IT literacy (Microsoft, Zoom, project management, people management software). including accounting and reporting packages and especially Excel, Finance System, SUN systems, Q&A XL skills and experience
- Good verbal and written communications in English and local languages with Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences
- Commitment to VSO’s mission, values, People First principles and core approaches (Social Inclusion and Gender, Social Accountability, and Resilience).
Desired selection criteria
Working experience in INGOs sector
Knowledge and certification in project management (PMD Pro)
