Position: Associate Attorney
Education:- LLB Degree in Law.
Experience:- Minimum of 4 years relevant legal experience, of which 2 years in the banking sector.
1. Job Objective
To protect the Bank from possible future legal vulnerabilities by providing legal analysis and drafting legal advice to the credit process, and performers and confirming legally required documents.
2. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare loans, pledges/mortgages, and other related contracts.
- Ensure the fulfillment of legal requirements of all borrowers and pledgers/mortgagors’ contracts.
- Ensure the legality of all borrowers and pledgers/mortgagors as per the updated laws of the country, the bank’s procedure, and the checklist.
- Draft legal opinion and submit to manager legal credit.
- Evaluate the fulfilments of legal requirements of the previous contracts.
- Review contracts, ensure their completeness, and signs them.
- Review the appropriateness of the registration of mortgage contracts and the collateral insurance policy/contracts.
- Review and Follow up on the period of limitation of Mortgage contracts for timely and proper action.
- Check documents to be kept in safe custody.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
- Track legal defects and makes discussions to take/recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Work collaboratively with credit performers.
- Prompt legal opinion at a reasonable cost.
- Perform other related duties given by the supervisor.
